Hi brudders,

Seems like there's a lot a interest in the new Octy, even from our non-skoda owning brudders out there. Well, I've just got 2 things to say.

1. with the kind of complaints that you are reading here... why do you still wanna get one? [hur] hahaha... [laugh] just kidding ah... lets have a sense of humour and be able to laugh at ourselves sometimes ah... [:p][sweatdrop]

2. more seriously, heard from eugene (salesman in CA) that the new octy's coming in 3rd-4th quater this year. so jhoo won't need to wait till '06. [:)]

Also, seems that Skoda's finally coming out with an SUV called the Yeti... yay for SUV fans like myself. I'm still trying to get used to the low ride height.

Well, just thot i'd share with you brudders some news I've got.

cheers,

eug

Hmm new Octy in 3rd-4th quarter?? It will be interesting to know what CA is going to get rid of all the 200 units of Octavia Tour (previous Ambentie) brought in May.

Yeti still got no green light to production line yet. However, the Roomster definitely will. Hopefully to see the real thing by end of next year.

If memory serves me correctly, the Tour version of the Octy should be sold in parallel alongside the new model (at a substantial discount). That, at least, is what's being done in foreign markets.

Tot oversea dun sell Tour anymore, only new Octy II. The current Octy I only sell in vRS model.

I've come across several European websites saying this. One example is Skoda Ireland.

http://www.skoda-auto.ie/contentv3/index.c...06&parentID=804

"The Tour is a continuation of the previous model Octavia and will be sold alongside the much acclaimed 2005 model."

Skoda's 2004 Annual Report also seems to indicate this is so.

http://www.skoda-auto.com/share/annualrep/...nual2004eng.pdf

"Concurrently with the new Octavia, the Company

continues to offer,in response to market demand, the

current Octavia Tour. The timeless design combined with

continuous modernisation still makes the Octavia Tour

a competitive vehicle. As the parallel offering of both

models clearly emphasises,further development leading

to the new Octavia has resulted in improvements in

driving comfort,functionality,and dynamics that make

this vehicle more than a mere successor."

Well, seems like the tour is much bigger than existing Octavia A/C/E in terms of body dimemsions...

Octavia Tour

With its all-steel, fully zinc-galvanized, five-door, two-section body, the Limousine has a total length of 4,507 mm, width of 1,985 mm (including external door mirrors) and height of 1,431 mm. The outstanding road properties of Octavia Tour are partly accountable to its large interaxial span of 2,512 mm. The size of its interior provides sufficient room for all passengers with maximum comfort dimensions of 1,115 mm in the front and 863 mm in the back. The elbow width in the front seats is 1,404 mm and 1,428 mm in the back. The head room in the front is 973 and 962 mm in the back.

With its 528 liters, the volume of the luggage compartment is well above average, surpassing even higher medium class vehicles. Moreover, after folding down the rear seats, the size of the luggage compartment can be increased up to an incredible 1,328 liters! Loading luggage and any other cargo is easy, thanks to low height of the compartment

Octy II has been out for so long liao... and at one stage I was seriously considering the Octy II - expecting it to be priced similar to Megane II or maybe slightly cheaper. I waited and waited and waited for CA to bring it to SG, but apparently everyone is still waiting...

geeezzz... the Octy II would be ideal...

wanted to give CA business they also don't want to take... what to do?

CA's business model: "business _not_ wanted"
