Silverbullet Neutral Newbie May 15, 2005 Author Share May 15, 2005 Oh... could be. How much lower is it? and is your ride perfect? i'm assuming that your tyre pressures are equal throughout.... If that's the solution then I may just go lower my right rear suspension. ↡ Advertisement
Lightspeed Clutched May 15, 2005 Share May 15, 2005 Perfect? Alignment is ok... Just the funny thing that my right rear is lower than the rest
Silverbullet Neutral Newbie May 15, 2005 Author Share May 15, 2005 Bro, as i see it, 2 possibilities. 1. your amps and woofer for your ICE is weighing that particular side down abit. or 2. your car came set for our roads. either way, the rear right dip takes weight off your left front wheel thus reducing the left pull. that's most prob why you don't have an alignment problem and I did. just so long as your front wheels are not higher that your rear overall, it's fine. if not, there may be a tad too much float on the front wheels at high speeds. but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it is what i say... just my 2 cents worth... Sonnytay Neutral Newbie May 16, 2005 Share May 16, 2005 My car didn't have this problem of holding steering slightly offset to make the car go straight. However, there was uneven wear on my tyres and yes, the clearance of the wheels from the wheel arch for the front wheels is different by one finger. Problems resolved after I changed all 4 wheels (due for change anyway) and did a wheel alignment. This computerised wheel alignment is the one where they lift the car up and place those gadgets on the wheels and the dashboard and calculated the difference. They then had to lower / heighten the individual suspension to make the car level. After the alignment, the difference of 1 finger clearance for the front wheels is still there, but can feel that the tyres are not 'vibrating' anymore during travel. Why don't you try having the wheels aligned?
Silverbullet Neutral Newbie May 16, 2005 Author Share May 16, 2005 Thanks for the inputs bro. From what you tell me, it seems your weight distribution has been corrected by the dipping of your front right suspension. That's why you don't have a left pull problem with your car. This height diff won't cause uneven wear if your tyres are aligned according to this suspension set up as you have done. As for wheel vibration, if you're talking about the wheel shaking, this would have been solved by the balancing of the tyres which the tyre guys would have done after they mounted the tyre on the rim. I don't think you're talking about swerve or left pull, since your front suspension should have compensated for it. As for uneven wear, yes, alignment would have eradicated that problem. Thanks for confirming my suspicions bro. Much appreciated. Now its off to servo to drop 1cm from my front right suspension. ↡ Advertisement
