Aeroplane noise on my ICE setup

bros out there,

 

I just done up ICE on my own last weekend and it was bad. When the ignition wasnt turned on. Everything sounded ok. But, once i start the engine, loud aeroplane noise can be heard even without stepping on the accelerator.

 

Any bros know how to tackle this problem specifically?? I am sure i ve done my wiring correctly as verified by a car audio shop.

 

Any infos on it would be much appreciated.

Ahhh... I have heard of this "aeroplane" syndrome... You need to check your wiring liaoz..

I got this also after i fumble around the settings and wiring for my setup.. just went back to the installer and he helped me to installed a noise suppressor and after some tuning... back to normal..

the AMP grounding...terminal isszt tight enuf...

thks bros for replying. All wirings are tightly secured and connected using connectors and not black tapes.

 

noise supressor, what is it actually? where is it fixed?? Is it a magnet?? i ve heard pple toking abt it on e forum saying that it solves e prob but the sound quality suffers a great deal. is tt true?

 

Do you suffer from the same symptom whereby when the engine is off, everyting sounded good. But once the engine turns on, the interference will come?

Yup, sound louder with engine revolution...

 

Its fixed between the RCA cable to amp and HU.

hi just DIY my sound system.with 4 channel amp and front boss speakers and rear using stock clarion speakers.but got this aeroplane noise.can help?any shop to recommend.worry that the shop will be biased as did not get his ICE eqiupment from him.do help any gurus ard.thanks.

You have to check your electrical circuitry in your system again. Some fundamentals that you can take note and should avoid allowing the aeroplane to take off, is...

 

1. Your power cable should be isolated from the RCA and speaker cables, i.e. if your power cable is run from the left side of your car, all RCA and speaker cables should run on the right side.

 

2. Make sure grounding to chasis is correctly done.

 

3. Make sure the power cable is run in one whole length.

 

4. It does pay off by insulating the cables with trunkings/shields.

 

My personal note on noise suppressor is, it doesn't solve the problem, it merely cover up the noise. So, don't waste money on that.

if all connection is tight, then ur cables are run properly, change ur grounding point.

 

scrap off the paint on the place where u are groudnin at.

I have been fighting alternator whine all my live (at least it feels like it)

If you share your setup I can probably offer some advice...

so what HU and amp are you guys on? and how many and what type RCA are you using, and where do they run to? Under seat or in boot?

Did you by any chance tie the power cables togather with the rca and speaker cables.If you did then I advise you to run all the electrical cables on 1 side of the car and all the signal and speaker cables on another.If some of the speaker cables have to come in contact with any power cables make very sure that they are align perpendicularlly to each other. If you still can't get rid of the noise then go and check all your grounding cables, and finally if you still have that noise then you go and buy the noise suppressor.

I think I know the problem cos I kena b4.

 

The power supply line was tapped wrongly.

This is the reason why whenever you step on the accelarator, "aeroplane" sound is heard.

This is a lousy ICE installer.

hmm.the supply was tapped from the battery directly and also got fused with it.and the earth is put below the seat mounting screw.but previously also try yo used my friend amp also still the same.i thought that his amp is spoiled thats why got whining noise.i guess i should follow the gurus advise here which have give me the direction.will try it this week end.thanks gurus.
