Ok. Notice that the round steel plates (dunno the proper name) behind the rims of the front wheels has turned yellowish. Think there is a layer of rust on them. But the funny thing is that the back portions are still black...

Any explanation or concern for this? How can I remove or prevent this from happening?

BTW, I drive a Pug 206.

Thanks in advance... [dizzy]

Are you referring to the brake discs? Or the brake disc dust cover?

Brake disc do rust and it's normal. After braking a couple of times it'll clean off by itself. Do you store your car for long periods in open air carpark?

Think u should be refering to the brakes.... tell u what.... just drive your car.... and step on the brakes for a few times... then parked your car..... get down and check again.... if no more..... confirm it's brakes then. [thumbsup]

Usually after a rain ... it can appear quite bad.... [laugh]

Since you saw steel in front rims, and black in rear rims, those must be the brakes.

The front of your 206 uses discs, therefore they'll rust, even in the day. Try park your car in office (in morning) and observe them before driving off (after 5). You will notice specks of rust on them, that's normal. The discs are bare steel plates. The rear brakes are black, coz they are drum brakes. The drum cover is painted black. There are no discs, the pads are inside the drums.

Hope that helps!
