Warming up

hi ppl up there..

a new driver here . i read tat cars are recommended to warm up before it can start moving. so how long do you guys wait normally? and how often? i have heard that you only warm up your car if u didn't start the car after a day.. feed me on this

after resting, all the engine oil flows back to the pan..

 

when your car starts, it will slowly get pumped around and circulate the engine again. So during that period before the engine oil fully reaches all the parts of the engine, wear and tear rate is rather high..

 

but i guess if you just do slow driving for the initial 5 - 10 mins then should be alright.just dun redline immediately... haah.

yups... wait for say 15 sec before driving off slowly...

more for fluids to flow around in engine first...

if u notice... ur engine warms up faster as u drive. as wad one of our bro mentioned dun redline immediately and u need not let it stay idle for more than 15 secs as u are wasting petrol after tat 15secs.

when my car is new, yes. now no. but i do ensure i drive slowing in the first 5 mins.

I just wait till my rev meter is slightly below 1000rpm. Normally takes abt 2mins or so I think.
