Prata Neutral Newbie April 26, 2005 Share April 26, 2005 (edited) Hi... would like to know if anyone done their solar film by McGap - www.mcgap.com ?? Their films seemed to have a decent heat rejection of (F:62%, R:56%) for $400++ package. Supposedly, they will also issue a warranty certificate with the VLT ratings... any feedback is greatly appreciated... thanxx.. Super4 Clutched April 26, 2005 Share April 26, 2005 Try RayBarrier...cheaper....think on par or better heat rejection.... They are charging $250 for whole car tinting there, value for money if u ask me....(lower heat rejection of course)
Prata Neutral Newbie April 26, 2005 Author Share April 26, 2005 (edited) Thought RayBarrier is premium stuff and is quite ex?? $250 package from perfect films?? if i'm not mistaken the LexTint economy from perfect is only <30% in the rear? wow... if really RayBarrier all round, then no need to wait liao..:P Edited April 26, 2005 by Prata
Super4 Clutched April 26, 2005 Share April 26, 2005 If my memory doesnt fails me, it's about 300plus...still cheaper than Mcgap...All films have different grades and specs and of course price$$ I did the $250 and felt that the car is actually less hot(i was sceptical about the specs but heck, go for it, cheap and good). Prata Neutral Newbie April 26, 2005 Author Share April 26, 2005 (edited) i was actaully impressed by McGap's demo of their films - they got a device to show the heat rejection of their films; my hand felt very cool when placed under their film (58-62%) and the best part is that the VLT is 50%... i do not prefer dark tints.. Cost & heat rejection is the top priority... budget < $400; may check out perfect films if the heat rejection is more superior Edited April 26, 2005 by Prata

Lawsu Neutral Newbie April 26, 2005 Share April 26, 2005 I realise that there are 2 important specs........ IRR = infra-red rejection SHR = heat rejection TSEB = Total Solar Energy Blocked Actually we should be looking more on total solar energy blocked. Can any1 give advice further..... Lawsu Neutral Newbie April 26, 2005 Share April 26, 2005 Any1 can advice...as I am deciding on AS Cool Visible Light Transmittance: 25%/ 70% Ultraviolet Blocked: 98% Total Solar Energy Block: 90% Cool Custom Front Windscreen + All Front Windows 75% Light Transmittance 46% Heat Rejection Rear Windscreen + All Rear Windows 30% Light Transmittance 62% Heat Rejection -UV Rejection for all Tints are at 99% It seems that heat rejection X= total solar energy block. Falc 3rd Gear April 27, 2005 Share April 27, 2005 I did mine at cool custom. That's the one having the do 3 get 1 free right? Pretty decent i must say. Workers are experienced and the film works most importantly. Under sunlight won't feel the searing heat anymore even through front windscreen. No idea abt the other one so cant compare .... sorry ....

Falc 3rd Gear April 27, 2005 Share April 27, 2005 It's somewhat indoor but no air-con room (yet). I was concerned abt that also, but they guarantee if got dirt, free redo. Mine so far didnt see any dirt yet. Give them a visit before deciding. ↡ Advertisement
