I am looking for a shorter antenna than the one that comes with my car. Know of any direct 'screw' on replacement that is shorter?

I currently have a screw / roof-mounted antenna which is pretty long considered that my car is a small car.

 

Can I unscrew that long antenna without replacing the base, and screw on those short little "shark-type" antenna?

I think the shark type cannot be mounted on a post type, your best bet is to get a shorter post type.

where is a good place to get my antennae fixed? mine is long one... want to change to short one... how much should it cost roughly? will it improve reception? if not, how to improve reception? i know a lot of queries but me newbie... need a lot of help one... thanks...

Someone is selling a short antenna in the classifieds. Looks nice. But I head from friends that shorter antenna will normally result in not so ideal reception.

consider first, plus i heard shorter antenna signal receiving is poor.

whoa thanks wor. my reception with super long antennae already not so good. if change masi kena cut off totally... i think stick to stock la though ugly looking. thanks.
