Lancer Feedbacks

Guys, there has been a increased of lancer on the roads, thus i assume many have chosen the vechicle over its reputed QC problems.

 

But so far, for new owners, less than a yr or so...has any minor/major probs surface??

 

And also, for those who took e auto tranny option despite knowing tat cvt gearbox cld prove to be problematic, run into any probs as yet??

 

Greatly appreciate any feedbacks.

My gf has got her auto lancer for 21 mths... No problem encountered so far

in my opinion..after test driving,i find the engine starts to roar at 3000rpm..sluggish..

Hi The Lancer(A) is using CVT technology & the Manual is using a 5-speed transmission. I haf frens who both drove the Auto & Manual. Dun realli haf any problems. As some of the MFC bros mention, yes the Auto is more slugglish & the roar bcomes more noticeable on 3000rpm onwards. Other than tat, the car is quite alright

thanks guys for the reply, wonder how come there are so many people there bashing Lancer nowadays, especially after the bankruptcy incidents. Just a few yrs back, its was all abt Lancer vs Civic in my camp.

it is true the car roars la..but it depends how u drive la..

 

i've heard it roar at 7k RPM.. tats really roarin.. 3k rpm, the roar seems ok wat.. i drivin manaul

 

only thing is, don ever try puttin 92 RON inside.. tat time try to save $$.. engine got funny sound

i last time took my uncle lancer out for joyride... its the the newer version manual... like the gear change very smooth... hmm found it fun to change gear... pick up normal... engine note get pretty loud after going near 4k... but hei... dunno its me or wat... i quite like the roar... feel sporty...

 

but most fun 1.6 jap car... the subaru ts... pick up ok la... a bit on the slow site... must rev to 4 plus k to enjoy the power band... can do u-turn like no-business hahaha

I guess the manual's alrite, but for auto, at 3k rpm its screaming like telling u that it can't go on anymore

Yup. I believe it's the age where most pple r driving Lancer Cks & civic Ek(1996-2000) esp the powerful Lancer Mivec & Civic SIR. These were few of the popular cars back then bt sadly many haf scrapped already due to the low cars prices 2day & the High COE tat time which = high dep for those cars.

haha.. next time u goin at 80, u shift down to 3rd gear and accelerate.. heheh.. confirm can one..

 

but if u talkin at 4th gear, at most is 5k la... unless u go malaysia try.

Yup. The roar is nothing 2 b alarmed. In fact, I quite like the roar Hehe~

 

Wah 7K ar..Ok la urs is manual. If is Auto, frequent high rev the CVT gearbox v.fast give way cos many haf said b4 tat the Auto CVT is nt meant 4 high rev..

 

I guess the engine got funny sound shld b engine 'ping-ing'

 

At the end of the day, I feel the lancer is stil a gd car be it the CBs(Evo3 look alike) CKs (Evo 4-6 look alike)or CSs(current) series.

yeah...lancer after 3k rpm is sluggish...it's peak torque is only at 2750rpm...
