Klasse VS Glare

Hi,

Just my two cents worth, but I personally feel that the whole Glare or PPS thing is overhyped and overpriced. I won't even get into their claims about durability etc. In the USA, you can buy Glare products for a fraction of the cost that they charge you to do it "professionally".

I bought the Glare sealant, glaze and polish for about $100. Used it on my car. Looked nice and shiny, beaded water well and seems to be a decent product. But I don't think its worth the money they charge you when you get the same results doing it yourself.

You can buy the glare products online if anyone's interested, but they will not sell to Asia because of "territorial alliances" whatever that means.

U add in workers pay per hour (or ur own pay per hour), the rental of shop unit, franchise fees, equipment, water n electricity bills, advertisement, especially when places like Glare is having discounts, the nett difference is not too big.

Furthermore, u also get to be treated like a customer in comfort and the guarantee shine within 18 months.

Anyway, if u r happy to save a few dollars and sweat it out yourself and more "bonding time" with ur ride, good for you .

[rolleyes]

they will nt sell to asia becos of the franchise tied down... so how to save our $ if we still need to get an air tix to fly to US?

u paid $100 to DIY...but i paid $244 during their 50% promo to have them do it for me....plus 18 mths warranty..3x inspections & applications.... on top of dat..i save buying a tix to US.. sit there read magazines while ppl sweat to glare my car...

I took the offer too... much better than those shopping center carpark polishing services which costs a lot more (both one time and every visit) and results not as good.

Well, to each his own i suppose. I'm currently not using glare as i have found products that provide better protection, last longer and are easier to use. If you're comfortable spending your money for this, then by all means! [;)]

In my opinion, there better products really aren't easily available in Singapore.

Just my personal experience with using these products in Singapore.

IMHO, the best I have used so far:

1. Collinite Insulator Wax - I still cant believe how durable this wax is, good shine and unbelievable slickness (rewax twice a year)

2. Zaino - best shine, but i find it a hassle with all the steps involved, pretty expensive

3. Ultimate Paint Protection (UPP) - Extremely easy to use, great shine, really slick finish, reasonable durability (rewax 3 time a year)

4. Meguires NXT - When i'm feeling lazy, cleans, fills and protects, great shine, but not much durability, great on dark colours (rewax every month)

5. Klasse AIO - best paint cleaner I have used, still using it

I've also tried 3M, TURTLEWAX, SOFT99 and AUTOGLYM products, but I didn't find them to be anything special.

Currently using AIO / Collinite combi. Just need a small amount and i rewax just twice a year. Don't think I'll change anytime soon!

Try Toughseal.. [thumbsup]

after a while, it resolve back to normal.

I think all kind of polish/wax - need constant work on it.

Toughseal or ultrashield - said protect for 5 years but only give 18 months gurantee.

- what a load.

I did it with Klasse - found it useful and easy to use.

I will probably polish/wx it once a month and i think i will spend 1-1.5 hrs.

if u want to maintain shine, u must constant work on it.

Klasse said that they can guarantee you the shine for 6-9 months - if you did once only.

therefore if you keep adding layers, it would look great.

No doubt Klasse AIO and SG is a great combo but I don think 1 application can last 6-9 months, even with multi layers it will not be advisable to let your car go without regular application for 6-9 months.
