Wbucket Clutched April 17, 2005 Share April 17, 2005 I heard Bazooka is quite well-known when it comes to Bass tube. But the commonly heard active subs are the Kenwood Wroof and the Infinity Basslink. Both are well reviewed to be subs that doesn't take up your space. Lionheart7004 Neutral Newbie April 17, 2005 Share April 17, 2005 Why active subwoofer? Active subwoofer go limited/no upgrade path.
Simhup Neutral Newbie April 17, 2005 Author Share April 17, 2005 i have no intention to upgrade.... so need to find a reasonably good one .... and space saving unit ... so it seems that kenwood and infinity are the one to go ... which model exactly? .... thanks

Wbucket Clutched April 17, 2005 Share April 17, 2005 Woof and basslink like I mentioned. Anyway, each have their perference. Avtive took out the hassle of the need for a amp. But I would suggest installation of a decent components first, if you don't have tweeters. It is cheaper and can still have rooms for future upgrade. And of course there is not space involved. The mid bass speaker for the components will have a good bass too.
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 why active sub.subwoofer with box is better, just get a 8" or 10" or 12" with a 2ch amp,is better than active.and u can upgrade nextime.if u really want to get active sub. get the infinity basslink 10" will be alrite.or pioneer ,kenwood is cheaper. Slonez Clutched April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 For $500, why not consider my Xtant A2002T bridged pushing SS Exact 10 sub in 1 or 0.5 cu ft sealed box . Guaranteed solid bass.
Headshok 1st Gear April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 haha.. i last time thought like u.. once i added a sub to my stock setup, all hell broke loose liao.. hahaha.. trust me, u'll want to upgrade... get an amp and a normal sub
Madsumm 1st Gear April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 Which exact model? Try the Bazooka new 200W version. 8200 Set u back around $560 I think. Box and tubes have different feel for bass. Tubes are good for Kick bass. Box are good for more extended bass. Rgds

Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie April 18, 2005 Share April 18, 2005 if u like loud bass, use vented box, music like trance, hit hop, rap,if u like solid bass use sealed box ,music like pop, jazz, rock, country, especially slow music.u will find a lot of different between this two boxes.trust me get a 8" sub ,if u no cash.get a 12" sub if u enough cash.with box .no regret .............. Wankie Clutched April 19, 2005 Share April 19, 2005 Thks for the pointers. Already have an active sub in the car, came with the stock sound system but it totally sucks, thats why looking at a replacement or maybe just disconnect it totally. Space is my concern mainly, don't want something that takes up the whole boot. Thks.
