Hi Bro & Sis.

Me very new here, just want to get feedback on the following:

If we have Unichip or Aftermarket ECU which are able to control the air/fuel ratio and etc.Does other mods such as E68,fuel regulator, capsule etc will useless since the unichip will ultimately act as the master controller of air and fuel.Hope the car gurus here are able to advise. Many thanks in advance for your view and feedback. [confused]

Yes and no. The ECU (not SAFC ah, that one not considered) will mostly gain a max of 10bhp per car, if tuned right. anything higher will kill your engine. Of course, exhaust, air filter, cam shafts, larger bores, enhanced throttle bodies will always help, since those are physical gains.

I always believed e-68s, magnets and the like to be useless. Cannot be proven. mostly psychological.

You want induction? Turbo or Supercharge it...

One thing to remember. Whatever you do, make sure your ECU remap and Dyno are the LAST thing you do. Otherwise, everytime you do something else, you have to go back again to re-tune.

Note: The UniChip does NOT necessarily control everything your ECU does. It provides a set of pre-defined parameters for your ECU to use.

Your engine block in it's current state can only handle a fixed amount of compression. That amount is pretty much decided by air/fuel combustion. Without reinforcing your engine blck, camshafts, pistons, blah blah blah, anothing to do with an increased compression in the engine will eventually wreck your block. This is why installing a Turbo isn't as simple as it seems. There's more to put in than just a turbo.

Which explains why Lordalfa would rather F*** himself if he were to go through all that all over again. laugh.gif Buy a car that is forced induction already to begine with. Save all the trouble.

I went through the transplant route and frankly, I would rather F*** myself than go through all that again. shakehead.gif

Well, if you know what you're doing, then you'll know what you've done for sure, and how much you've gained. I've gone the mad spending route, only to find it's pointless to mod a CVT car with only 1.5L of engine. Now, before I mod my current car, I'm very careful what I put in. So far, I only put in what it necessary.

Haven't done my ECU and camshafts though...

True true... Actually, I really don't know why. You can try many cars on the road, but for some reason, Italian cars tend to feel very different. Not necessarily more powerful, but definately more inspiring. this is one reason why I bought the Alfa. This is the only car I really felt compelled to own after test driving.

One test drive. That's all it took... next thing you know, kenna snake bite (serpent...). then cannot sleep for a few weeks until I go and book. Then lagi cannot sleep till the car arrives... geez! One of the most harrowing experiences in my life.

Think i wanna do a test drive at massa when i hop by alexander to see the gti. What's the best model to express interest in (i dont presume they have gta in showrm)? [sly] Also see if i got naturally immunity. hehe ....

Actually been in a 156 b4, but my friend was driving so slow and on fuel saving mode (aka low rpm) that it's almost painful to be in that gorgeous car. [sweatdrop]

Since you're going to Alexander to try the GTi, go to Hin Lung at the back, ask for Toey. He's their sales manager, and also Assistant Secretary of AROC Singapore. Ask him to let you try the GT. Tell him I sent you.

Better still, tell him that as an added incentive for you to decide, let you try HIS car... a nice 2.5L V6 156 Twin spark engine...

Bring your checkbook... heheh... [sly]
