Hi Guys,

We are considering whether to bring in AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 with advance wear protection and fuel efficient formula. Highly recommended for repeated continuous high speed drive (like up and down the NS highway) and even for normal daily drives, it'll prove to maximize fuel efficiency. [thumbsup]

"Race-proven technology designed for passenger car performance. Provides unsurpassed fuel efficiency and up to twice the wear protection provided by popular conventional and synthetic motor oils."

For more info http://www.amsoil.com/products/tso.html

Indicative price will be about $25/quart (yeah I know it's a bit much). This oil surpasses Mobil 1 Tri-syn in wear tests! Recommended up to 3 times regular oil change interval [sunny]

We're NOT selling series 2000 yet, we want to gauge interest before deciding whether to bring in this racing performance oil. [;)]

Cheers,

Gavin

Mojoe, if you have overhaul your engine than no problem wink.gif. Else, IMO, you should stay with 50 weight old smile.gif.

my first oil change after getting the car is Royal Purple from Shag... that's graded 40 right?

engine not overhauled but dun see a lot of 50s around leh... the place i workshop that I go to now uses Liqui-Moly and Redline I think..

Well AMSOIL series 2000 do have 20W-50 primarily for track use (high engine temps and redlining all the time).

If you can find kaki to make up 12quarts we can ship in a carton of Series 2000 20W-50 for you. [;)]

for track use? I dun go leh, and only rev up to a mx of 4000-5000rpm at times... still can ah?

12quarts about 12litres right?... hmm... so about 3 oil changes... dun mind getting it for my self actually... but at $25/quart is expensive though... close to $300 for 12 quarts dizzy.gifshakehead.gif

Nah, the 20W-50 is not specifically for track use, it's recommend for hard track use but since your engine is aged perhaps it's better.

The tentative cost is $25 per quart but I'll see if I can work out a better deal for you if U get an entire carton.....will let U know again. [;)]

okay, thanks bro! ... but won't reduce by a lot right? shakehead.gif

wat about the 'normal' Amsoil? Do they have 50 one? The price for that is still alright for me... thumbsup.gif .. If I buy 1 carton of that, possible to order?

Won't be much, the most 1 quart free (pay 11 bottles price for 12).

The standard AMSOIL we carry is the High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 which is similar to what you're using now, that's $15 a quart [:)]

The Amsoil High Performance oil comes in 50? My brick already clocked about 130k already so think i should go for 50.. smile.gif

Actually the need to use a 50 series oil for old cars is really dependent on the oil change history of the car.

My Taurus has 176k MILES on her and I'm using a 10W-30 oil and recommended from factory is 5W-30 all year round, and it's mineral oil.

If you have been on Syn oil then I don't see a need to worry about using a 40 series oil instead.

IMHO the need to use a 50 series oil is for constant high temp engine conditions or neglect of oil change and slugde had built up inside the engine and gaskets.

sigh... the problem is mine a 2nd hand one... not sure of history... only saw a Mobil 1 servicing sticker on the car which states supposed to change in June this year.. so assumed that the previous owner been using Mobil 1 syn...

thanks bro! thumbsup.gif
