Hi Guys,

Currently using the above mentioned tyre (205/50/R15) on my lancer

cause there are numerous good comments on this tyre so decide to try it out.

Before I comment on the performance, I would like to hear other users

opinion on this particular tyre. [:)]

Thanks.

(205/50/R15) for G sports is good value for money.

Expect noises to cut in by 15000-20000km which is quite normal.

For Lancer, why not also consider 195/55/R15? With this profile

price is cheaper. Should you decide to take 205/50, then go for

a tyre that offers deep grooves for water dispersion

okay, previously I was using Falken St115, so based on this,

there are a few points I would like to comment on the BF goodrich.

1) The sidewall on the BF is too soft (Not to my liking)

2) Grip on dry road is fair (6/10) Falken (8/10)

3) Grip on wet road is bad (4/10) Falken (7/10)

4) Comfort and noise level is better on the Bfgoodrich.

Falken is VERY VERY noisy and Firm sidewall.

5) Falken's thread wear off very fast, about 30,000 to 40,000km

I believe Bfgoodrich can longer due to the texture of the tyre.

(Not sticky enough?)

So based on the above, I am wondering why there are so many good remarks on this tyre,

Is it possible that the tyre I bought has defects or quality control problems?

But the Date-of-Manufacture is about half a year away.

Have used 2 sets of Falken already, 1st Set, 215/40R17, Second Set 195/50/R15

Both has very good/outstanding grip no matter in the wet or dry BUT the noise is terrible. (please compare tyres of the same price bracket) I believe if price is not a factor, BS SO3 would be a much better choice. [thumbsup]

Different opinion is due to different driving habit from drivers. There is no single tyre or thread that suit very drivers. That is also why so many threead pattern available in the market. So far i see Hankook and Yokohama have most thread pattern on the market to suit different drivers.

Used this set of tyres for almost 12K.. find it kinda noisy but grip is not bad. Took it to PG and did some punishment, performed better then I expected.

To me, worth the buy. Not expensive but considered performance.

If got budget, I'll go for GS-D3

Yeah, in the dry, the grip is okay,

but you find it noisy after 12000km ?

i suppose you have not tried Falken St115 yet ?

that is call NOISY! [laugh]

Actually, my purpose of this post is find out why

BF G-Force Sports has such good reviews,

am i missing something here ????? [confused]

probably a lemon tyre here .... won't think so much of it,

BUT won't be using it again.

The G force sports is indeed good.

Maybe its time to have your shocks replaced to get the most from your tyres.

Worn out shocks is noisy at high speeds (especially if you take

air type). Hydraulic shocks are more quieter.

teddi,

Have you replied to the wrong person ?

I did not complained that it's noisy ... [confused]

Anyway, I believe my shocks are still in good condition.

Thanks [:)]

My brother recently change to a new set of BF Goodrich G-Force Sport (195/50R15), and I've noticed that the side wall are slightly rounded even with a 50 profile. Also it doesn't have an obvious rim protector side wall profile.

i think BFgood rich is a good buy,

i even test the sidewall flex between AD07 andBF.

suprising, the AD07 is softcompound, and is soft.

while the Bf is made in thailand for tropical country, the sidewall is hard

only thing with Bf is darn Freaking nosiy [:|]

also well not so good.

I've been on the BF since 2003 (Feb I think).

That time they were promoting the 1st batch and it was on offer. I have used BF before in the US but knowing its made in Thailand (for SGP market) I wasnt expecting much.

However that said ... having done miles after miles on it, my findings kinda differ abit.

1) Noise : Yes I find that its quite noisy. But I kinda like it laugh.gif My 323 doesnt have good soundproofing , which makes it even worse. I was the Michelins MXV8 before the BF, and the Michelins were much noisier. Noise generated is quite often related to the thread design. So I am a bit more forgiving on this issue, looking at the thread design of this tyre.

2) Dry Grip : I find the dry grip excellent. No complains here.

3) Wet Grip : I run up to KL quite often. Many times .... SGP drivers at rest stops would walk by my car to have a look at my tyre. Reason : I was flying by them at 150 kph in the rain, when the rest, especially those using Yokohamas were losing grip at 130 kph (aquaplanning). I have no complaints on its wet grip. Under intermediate wet conditions .... which is very a SGP condition (water draining on SGP roads is thumbsup.gif), I am comfortable with the grip level.

I used Falkens on my Celica before .... but thats a long time ago , so I cant quite comment on the newer tyres wink.gif Personally , I find not much diff wink.gif

Just swapped to the g-force sport on the front of my 180sx (on friday). It was a choice between these, BS G3's(last choice as i wanted to try something else), and yoko's ES100's (only three that were availible in 196/60R15.

One thing i was told for the smaller tire widths, the g-force sport and G3's comes in 2 speed ratings. the H and the V's and the v's use a softer compound.

The real reason i did not go for the ES100's is coz they were not in stock and i need to change my front tires asap.

I havent scrubbed them in but both wet and dry grip seems to exceed the G3's i had on previously. I'm really happy with the buy thus far coz they were chepaer than the G3's.

its a good tyre but overall i prefer falken st115 as its comparable. tread wear for falken is indeed faster, around 35,000 to 40,000km but i suppose this way it shows the tyre is doing its job... hehe [laugh]

(edited)

I know, but since the compound seems to be better i have no complaints. Effectively i have michelin's anyway since they own bf goodrich.

Btw, in a wheels australia test the bf goodrich's were compared to the st115, g3's, one of the dunlops and one of the yoko's and it came out tops overall... think the only time it lost in a performance category was in wet traction and braking to the yoko's

I was previously on Yokohama AVS sports. Was an awesome tires and good in wet n dry...

Currently on BF goodrich G-sports. Good on dry although abit 'screeching' sound during hard cornerings, but it can still hold pretty well... only compaint is that its grip fades off easily during wet days...

Overall give it a general rating of 7/10 [lipsrsealed]
