Oh, didn't we already mention that this is the Official Mascot Vehicle (OMV) for Klub 28???

Right, Super7? laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

There were 4 of us that drove from NY to LA in the late 70's in one of those 'campers' with the pop-up roof which sleeps another 2 (actually its meant for 1 more, but there's nothing like 2-in-1, right? sly.gif).

OMV = Official Mascot Vehicle ...just being presumptuous, here. But, seriously, it'll really be cool to see his custom Kombi. Have a lot of 'fond' mammarys, I mean, memories with that van... laugh.gif

This was in the late 70s: The war that nobody wanted was over. The veterans returned feeling relieved, yet somewhat defeated, unwanted and forgotten. The height of the hippie era was over. "I-am-not-a-crook" left office and everyone wanted healing... It truly was the Age of Aquarius in the sense of a new refreshing future. There was less Bob Dylan but more John Denver. But the Kombi reigned on.....

Me, Hippie??? No... just did not make war!!! smile.gif

".....No... just did not make war!!! ....."

yeah, "Peace, make love" was not as meaningful than simply not making war!?......

....almost heaven....... Rocky mountian high...... sunshine.........he performed at one of the D&D of my wife's company years ago....... great singer [thumbsup]

hey, have you been to Colorado, Boulder, Denver???..... my dream places for a good holiday....... maybe hire/buy a classic Kombi and drive around the place.........

cheers

Hi, you must be back from the meetup with the bros... Must have had a good time thumbsup.gif Wow, its already 2am for you... (I'm 8 hours behind).

Yes, Boulder/Denver Colorado are two lovely cities. Another is, Colorado Springs. Most surprising thing is, they're among the sunniest cities in the USA. If I remember right, they average around 200 sunny days a year. Or, if you're there in winter, Aspen and Vail (two very popular ski resorts) are within driving distance.

In the 80s, Subaru was very popular in Colorado state. If you're renting, an SUV with part-time 4x4 would be a good choice. Need Heavy Duty vehicle.

Once, in winter, I drove from Denver across the Rockies and plateau to San Francisco in a Buick Century (5L V8) Station Wagon. Mistake! The ups and downs over and around the mountains took their toll on the brakes and transmission. Had to had those replaced in SF.

Well, expensive 'tuition', I guess... shakehead.gif
