Fitvip Supersonic March 20, 2005 Share March 20, 2005 Hi All,Wonder how this car performance and FC as compared with the normal Sunny EX, advice needed, Thanks. The Sunny VIP was is a Japanese domestic model. It was first brought in by PIs. TC followed suit. I owned a VIP EX Saloon for 40 months. I find the interior trim good and solid body. It was equiped with ABS and dual airbags, full leather seats, height adjustible seat belts, electric operated wing mirrors. Auto gear with overdrive. The EX model did not have techometer. The car was stable. I ever hit 180 km/h on the NSH. Pickup is lacking. But if you are not a chiongster, it is enough for family use. My fc hit the highest at 14.5/litre. But as the right foot getting heavier, it fell to abt 12 km/l The SuperSaloon version is equiped with the following additional equipments: auto air-con, techometer, auto folding wing mirror, rear central arm rest. It was priced at abt $76K in early 2003.

Patcheon Neutral Newbie March 22, 2005 Share March 22, 2005 (edited) Owned a VIP 1.5Ex, For my case FC is satisfactory, best recorded is 18+km/l on NSH and 15+km/l in Sg. That was after I added in 1 bottle of STP Octane performance booster, after which reverted to normal after a couple of months. Normal average FC in Sg is around 13-14km/l. Spacewise, find that the rear seat leg room is a little clamp esp. noticable for long drives up north, but think it is the same for normal Sunny too. Car feels very stable IMHO compaired to cars my family previously owned(90's Corolla & Civic) and even to the B14 Sunny. Pickup wise had improved noticably after I put in KNN filter and CAI. Commented even by ppl who did not know of the changes so should not be psychological. Edited March 22, 2005 by Patcheon

Fitvip Supersonic March 22, 2005 Share March 22, 2005 (edited) As per reply by Patcheon. Front space quite decent. Rear, can't say it is very cramped, but there is insufficient leg room as there is no hollow space under the rear seat. Boot size is quite reasonable too. I find that Patcheon can get very good fc. Beep2 Neutral Newbie March 22, 2005 Share March 22, 2005 Good choice if you can accept the look I am a previous owner of the car. FC about 11-12 with 15" Rim, 10 with 16" Sport Typres. Performance can improve a lot when you change the Air Filter to K&N, Cylone, Air Max 2 and Denso Spark Plug. Was test driving Clot Plus, Mazda 3 and compare to my previous mod vip, I think my old vip can pick up better than them !!!! Of course power was a little lacking if you have not done anything. Go for it if you are looking for a cheap, reliable japanese familiy car. My carpark recently added a few used vip in very good condition.
Patcheon Neutral Newbie March 22, 2005 Share March 22, 2005 (edited) Just like to add that mine's a manual, so FC and pickup should be better than auto. The 18+ km/l FC recorded was a surprise. Did a drive up Ayer Hitam last year to see how is FC affected after adding the STP additive. (Also to jalan jalan for the weekend) The 15km/l Sgp record was just achieved a week before. CAI was not done then. Topped up at the SPC station at Tuas then off we went. On return, at the last petrol station beford crossing 2nd Link, went to top up again. Manage to put in 11+ litres only and distance travelled is around 200km. Worked out to 18+km/l On the other hand, since it is only 1 try, can only take it as a reference.
