close to decision, but at nearly $120k, hope to know if there are any alternatives??? ..... eg, similar performance (240hp), space (wagon space, 5-seater), similar price, AWD, etc etc, ............. really can't think of any ............. some reports say X5 comes close but at very much different price level........ Harrier 300 maybe, but also ex. (of course both these SUVs are few classes higher in terms of image and posh-ness, but i am looking for down-to-earth stuff.............. V60R????, same as the other two .............

any comments ??? ....... it seems the Airtrek Turbo R is value for money,..... yes/no??

do u really need to turbo, 240hp no play play [sweatdrop] Airtrek is definitely value for money [thumbsup] Nissan X-Trail........... X5 i think is about $350K. I prefer Harrier 300 to Rav or CRV (diff category anywhere)........... V60R [thumbsup] ...Forester ?

if i juz go by arithmatics: in terms of hp per dollar, 240hp for $120k = 2hp/$...... say a typical 2000cc sedan at $100k giving typically 150hp (on the high side), it gives only 1.5hp/$.......... or say a korean car 150hp at $90k, which is still not 2hp/$....... some more AWD handling leh...... where to get????

the basic Rex (unfortunately sold out) is 220hp at $115k, still short of 2hp/$, but of course better handling, down side to me is it's a four/five seater without wagon cargo space........... i need to carry chunky stuff at times ........

cheers

for us, practical still the key, go for space with bigger hp [nod]. when C&C launch the Airtrek in Aug didn't pay too much attention but begin to like it and saw quite a few of the road already [thumbsup]

I think if u trade-in yr kamry, u still get the comfort in Airtrek but better performance [thumbsup][thumbsup]

wait, i see someone rushing to the showroom tomorrow liao [laugh]

have been in n out of C&C's showroom lately: to test drive the Airtrek........ then in n out of PI's showrooms....... to look for good deals....... the interest rates they have offered is between 2.2 % (heavy penalty if redeem loan ie sell car within 7 years) to 2.6% (some offer no penalty after the 2nd year)......... do you guys know of any better rate out there??........ i believe we can choose our own financing right??..... of course SE will be mad coz no commission for them........ same for insurance..... did you get loan and insur from SE???

cheers

i mean to book the car liao [laugh]

i think PI will be more flexible but will C&C support with service & parts? interest rate is pretty low now but 2.2% with penalty is abit difficult to bite [:/] I believe C&C offer 2.6% if get from their finance but no penalty if repay early [nod] , insurance most will allow to source from others.

Closest rival to the Airtrek is Subaru Forester Turbo. Styling may be less appealing to some (subjective) but perfomance very good and comfy too.

Heard that the Airtrek TurboR drinks like a fish [furious] , something like 6 km per litre. [jawdrop]

Volvo T4?

Honda Accord EuroR?

Honda Intergra Type R?

Nissan S15 Silvia?

Think these cars are around the $120k price region with min 200bhp? [:p]

definitely drink like a fish..probably a whale...

imagine the same Evo engine matched to an auto transmission and so much more weight to haul around....= bad formula for fuel consumption...... [thumbsdown]

For a good auto loan, u can try ABN-Amro Bank. 2.2% wif no penalty for early redemption after the 1st yr. (penalties are typically 20% of balance interest payable, so watchout for those offered by many banks). Great friendly service too. Check them out. [:)]

Why not we test drive the Volvo S40 T4 and have a good feeling about the car.
