Hi all,

Just want to check with anyone here whether there is anyway to improve my performance for my engine I-DSI on high end torque? I have already put the following for my car:

1. Open Pod Air Filter with short rAM pipe

2. UniChip 16 Bit

3. SAFC2

4. Changed Muffler

Just want to know whether there is any way. More for my knowledge than intending to mod. Thanks.

iDSI is design to give good mileage so, don't think there's much you can improve on the high-end torque unless on the extreme, T/C or S/C wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif

go look at lordalfa's post on how to improve NA's performance...

just curious, y do u have both SAFC2 and Unichip? doesn't unichip already have all functions of SAFC2 and even more?

Yes, it does. But with SAFC2, I can re adjust the Air Fuel Ratio.. without re tuning the Unichip which save my cost. Sometimes i tune for different purposes.. but the Unichip still stands.. don't know how to explain leh..

U want 1 setting for good FC and another for spirited driving on the highways when being "tiong-ed", right? [laugh]

Anyway, as others hv mentioned, the I-DSI engine is made purely for good FC, the performance variant is its VTEC brother. From what I know, the I-DSI is using 2 spark plugs for each cylinder to compensate for the less ignition advance (more for better emission and FC). You can probably put in an adjustable cam pulley to move the power curve higher up the RPM, but then your low-end power will suffer, bcoz you don't have the variable valve timing function like on the i-VTEC...

no figures, but you can definitely feel from the get go as well as thru the mid to high range that the 4-1 is producing some effects. IdsI suffers from mid to high range so that was my initial motivation to install the extractor, but seems like it helps quite a bit with the acceleration at low end too...

BTW, I'm runing on the standard muffler.
