Anyone know where to get the replacement for the fuel tank release lever (Black sprint like gadget at the fuel refilling point) as it is broken and now can't open my fuel refilling cover unless with another person helping me to pry open when i pull the fuel flap in my car...

My Gen2 which comes with 4 disc brake doesn't seems to have an effective braking taken into the fact that it is a 4 disc brake. Any fellow Gen2 owners having this problem? I am still having the stock rims and tyres.

what you meanby not having an effective braking? your car cant stop? If tat's the case, u shld go back to the service centre before anything unfortunate happens.

It can stop but judging from the fact that it is 4 disc brake, the braking distance should be shorter. Previously my toyota corolla (4 disc brake) wasn't this bad and Honda (2 disc brake) also brake better than current ride Gen2( 4 disc brake)

Hi Trd123,

Have you got that fuel door fixed? How much was the damage? What did you have to change exactly? I also have the problem and often need to do the syn excercise. Driver Pull Lever and the person outside have to pull the fuel door at the same time. haha...

Another fault found, the light around the Ignation Key is gone. Haiz... Wonder how much would it cost just to check the circuitry or possibly change the lights.

Ah yes, the Gen.2. One of the first cars I owned. I do actually like it a lot - like many of you said the handling is really, really good. That "Handling by Lotus" sticker is not for show only.

Interior OK lar, looks quite futuristic although the plastics are so brittle. Don't forget that MG Rover was ready to re-badge it as a Rover, and it IS probably the only Malaysian car I can think of which was good enough to be licenced by another manufacturer - you can find it in China as the "Europestar RCR" or "Europestar L3". And the platform is being developed for an electric vehicle by Detroit Electric as well.

But it's getting on the years! Hard to believe but 6 years old already!

i think you mistaken alread. the so called tuned by lotus is for show only. if its really by lotus, then it will not be selling at such prices

The meaning of "Tuned" is debatable of course. But remember Proton owns Lotus.

I once did an emergency, nearly 90 degree turn at 160+km/h in a Gen.2 (avoiding an obstacle on NSH). The car stayed absolutely flat and controlled throughout. The tyres squealed but steering tracked my inputs exactly - no oversteer, no understeer. Remember the car has no fancy traction control or anything like that. If that is not called good, neutral handling, I don't know what is.

My wife & her dad shared a gen 2 1.3 manual. My frens have 1.3 auto & 1.6 manual. All 3 feel underpowered for their cc. After much research, there's a torque dip between 2.5-3k rpm. Body weight very heavy. High rev design mean no good for city driving. All these mean pickup very slow. Idling rpm also high. Bonnet cannot open from outside. Side window button in the middle. Handling is good. Look sporty.
