I don't think the facelifted with CPS engine (125hp) is being brought here. The older 1.6 110hp Manual feels lethargic in city driving compared to my Kia Rio 1.6 Auto also 110hp.

Forget about new proton products really. I myself was driving a proton before, it was a WIRA. AFter much research and read out about newer generations of proton, I didn't get another proton to replace the WIRA because most qualities I'm looking for are lacking, such as engine noise (sporty noise yes but noisier than WIRA), quality build, brakes (despite being 4 disc, they feel weak, the weakest among other makes I have test driven), packaging issues (rear seat is so low that my thighs don't get support and during clutch in, my legs would rub the lower panels). Despite proton improvement, they are still back behind the Koreans. I still rate the WIRA is by far the best Proton product.

I agreed. My Malaysian ex-colleagues (hubby & wife) changed from WIRA to Gen 2 and they regretted their decision.

Their WIRA though old, didn't gave them any problem. But their Gen 2 was otherwise. They have the problem starting the engine and have to wait for about 10 mins at times before their are able to. Sent to Proton also can't solve the problem.

Until last year they got stuck in Ipoh (they lived in Kulai), they gave up the Gen2 for good and bought a Kelissa.... [laugh]

U guys should try driving a Auto 1.3 version with 5 person onboard. Even with fully synth engine oil & V-power, will struggle badly.. Pedal press full mostly in city driving with 5 pax; also sometimes cannot keep pace with others. Each time got very slight slope, the speed will go down fast.

Anybody tried the newer 1.6 CPS version? 125hp with no torque dip found in the older model. Or agent never bring in the CPS version?
