Davedesouza Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 HI fellas, i saw a banner at the Sin Ming Golf Range and thought I come snoop around! I own a old Renault and am thinking abt changing to Peugeot 206. Seems quite beautiful and comes with the manual-automatic gearbox. Any feedback on this car?? dave ↡ Advertisement
Acemundo Supercharged February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 i don't know much but have a suspension its too pricey.....its only 1.4 but still selling around 74-76K if the last price i know is still valid....
Dtvox Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 I agree that for a small car, the price is quite steep. I think the new renaults will be a better buy...
DarkLord 1st Gear February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 Why not 307?
Mojoe Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 probably coz Regent has Ford covering the lower end of the conti and wants Peugeot to cover the mid range...
Kaer Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 The last price should be less than 70k
Redeel Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 Why not wait for the new Focus? Or try the Astra? eddie
Davedesouza Neutral Newbie February 28, 2005 Author Share February 28, 2005 hello FAST REPLIES man!! 206 is selling for 69000 now. but this model is how many years already? Just read the Car Buyer and seems like Fiat coming? I had a Fiat 124 Sports before. Anybody know their prices? Can find a number to call them. dave
Silver_blade Turbocharged February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 I find Peugeot over-priced here. Regent is trying to make a low-end mainstream european brand to become an alternative luxury make. The built quality of the 206 is just so-so (shiny plastic). I would go for Renault anytime...pricing is more in line.
Acemundo Supercharged February 28, 2005 Share February 28, 2005 yup....kind of hard to believe peugeot is smelling much more ex than ford
Mojoe Neutral Newbie March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 yup... what's their omv?? maybe they are higher if they bring in the 'real' stuff with almost full spec compared to a bare-bone ford?
Acemundo Supercharged March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 hehe....i didn't really keep tabs..... the focus used to be more expensive than the 206....now its like equivalent or 206 being more expensive....then again, probably bcos focus came to end of product cycle first... Lala81 Hypersonic March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 its a smallish car. about the same cabin size as a vios. The 1.4L manual conti pickup is decent. Its 5 yr old since it was released in singapore.
Lala81 Hypersonic March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 [reply] yup....kind of hard to believe peugeot is smelling much more ex than ford err ford isnt hardly even a mid end brand itself beside for the wonderful focus. generally in Europe american cars are dirt cheap except for like the Focus which is the one car that is priced on par with its counterparts, the astra etc.
Acemundo Supercharged March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 hmm.....but i tot peugeot also economical car in europe?
Maded Neutral Newbie March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 I like the 206 for its looks... it's very rev-happy and performance is not bad for a 1.4l (better than my Aveo)... however i find the suspension a bit too soft for my liking...
Mojoe Neutral Newbie March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 i did consider a 2nd hand 206 when i was looking for my first car.. but wasn't impressed with the overall plasticky feel of the 1.4... almost feel like i can reap the door handle off
Acemundo Supercharged March 1, 2005 Share March 1, 2005 i tried the 206.......liked its external styling and its low end torque.....but a brand new one is a put off with its pricing.....2nd hand one can really consider. ↡ Advertisement
