Wbucket Clutched June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 Actually all those lights, as long as you don't drive and "on" them, TP shouldn't bother you.

Wbucket Clutched June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 I think they do have some issue with light in the cabin when driving. Better be safe on this.
DarkLord 1st Gear June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 Shouldn't be a problem. The most, install a switch to disable the lights.
Ecaf Neutral Newbie June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 i am thinking of hooking up neon light in my engine bay such that it will light up when i pop my bonnet. may be handy when i need to look at engine bay in the night time
Wbucket Clutched June 18, 2005 Share June 18, 2005 Nice. But do ensure additional water proofing is done. My friend got 3 out of 4 blown by rain. 2 at the front of the engine bay, 1 at the back.
Ecaf Neutral Newbie June 18, 2005 Share June 18, 2005 the neon lights themselves are not weather-proof?
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear December 5, 2006 Share December 5, 2006 Actually, premium conti cars like Merc do have "ambient" light at footwells and also cabin when driving, but they're very subtle and dimmed. Safety studies have shown them to be effective, and is a bit like the soft ambient lighting of posh hotel washrooms. IMO, if we keep the light subtle (e.g. dim LED) when driving, and only use bright flourescent when stationary using switch or connected to auto on cabin lights when the doors are opened, it should not be an issue. Chemz Clutched December 7, 2006 Share December 7, 2006 hmm probably the driver forgot to switch it off whilst on the road i suppose.. i've always assumed that so long the vehicle is on the move, no blink blink fanciful lighting systems should be operating other than stock headlights/tail-lights/no. plate lights etc.
Lau_mathew Clutched December 7, 2006 Share December 7, 2006 Is it possible to hook it to the cabin light? so that when u open the dorr, it will light up and shut off when the doors are closed?
Chemz Clutched December 7, 2006 Share December 7, 2006 yep.. the installer shld be able to do it for u.. u can always request for an additional overwrite switch to permanently off even when doors are open in case of TP roadblock/pullover and a permanently on switch even when doors are closed to illuminate cabin 24/
