hey guys,

i m also looking at the outlander very closely. probably targeting the 7 seater coming out soon from C&C. I have tested a number of SUVs and following is my verdict,

1) RAV4 - not good value for money if you compare the features/functionality with other SUVs. I dont feel the power of the car surprisingly although its 2.4L 160hp engine compared with similar make/capacity

2) X-Trail - Very good value for money ( 81k+ ). Good response and power. Old face lift/design.

3) Ford Escape - Very good value for money ( 75k+ ). Simple interior with very little compartments. Slow response, engine revs very loudly. Always on 4WD. Low FC.

4) Grand Vitara - Good value for money ( 75k+ ). Very nice face lift/design. Basically an offroader more than a urban machine. very rough/hard suspension. Low FC.

5) Forester - Very good value for money ( 79k for Turbo, 69k for non turbo ). more of a CUV, small interior. Very good response and pacts the power. Face lift is not appealing but option to change to the mesh grille makes it a fierce machine. The insurance and FC makes the turbo model high in maintenance.

6) Outlander - Nice design/face lift except for the back which needs alittle getting use to. Very spacious, i took 3 guys in the back for a test drive and they felt very comfortable thoughout. Response is pretty good as compared to RAV4 and X-Trail. Picks up very fast and smooth after 2nd gear onwards. Priced fairly ( 87K+ , i have good contact with agent). The extra 3rd row of seats that can be folded flat is good for me as i dont usually need to take 7 pax. It gives me the extra room during normal days and option to take more pax.

Had been deciding between the forester and outlander for awhile. The harrier was also one of the options but then i started to dislike the idea of using a PI.

Anyone knows when the new 7 seater is coming in?

Hope to see the new 7 seater in C&C soon and get it before CNY :D
