Papercup Neutral Newbie February 2, 2005 Share February 2, 2005 Hey guys, I was at McWell today and was walking around the workshop when I came across these to things: "Super Thermo LLC" and Cycle Logic Engine Ice". One of the guys at McWell told me that these are after-market high performace coolants. He told me that they are suppose to work much better than the OE coolants and are being used in racing cars. Anyone using these things? Does it work as claimed? ↡ Advertisement
Othello Supersonic February 2, 2005 Share February 2, 2005 (edited) i guess they do......... but the million-dollar-question is : Is yours a racing car ??? if, not, you prob be better off with a normal coolant eg. water-wetter or Merc ......... Buy @ stockist either Sin Ming or Alexandra there ......... cheaper ....... Edited February 2, 2005 by Othello

Jamesgetz 4th Gear February 3, 2005 Share February 3, 2005 they will work as a coolant but the increase in BHP r prob overstated unless your radiator is undersized for its duty the temp of the engine is ultimately controlled by the thermostat which controls the radiator fluid valve. even if the coolant is superbly good, the thermostat will just close off the valve to allow less cooling so as to maintain engine temp if u want to reduce engine temp, change the thermostat to lower temp one. but as Genie47 has posted somewhere in this forum, don't lower the engine temp anyhow or you can potentially screw up your engine

Ohlins Neutral Newbie February 7, 2005 Share February 7, 2005 they are used for racing as anti-freeze is not allowed on race tracks. super slippery! all this performance coolants will help if your vehicle has a prob. heating up very fast. engine-ice works on my bike, lowers the temp a little during cruising and esp important, the bike does not heat up so FAST during traffic stops. i can vouch as the bike has a digital water temp display. for normal cars with graph temp reading, how to monitor? unless u add a water temp meter. then in the end spend more money. just stick to normal antifreeze if you dun want any hassle. its been around for ages coz it plain works.
