Venturi cone for CAI Pipe

Hi Jhoo and St88,

Here's a pic of the venturi cone that was fabicated at Jeep Chee. Its diameter is 2.5" that can be cleanly mated to a 2.5" CAI pipe. The outer cone diameter is 3.5". Of course if you run a different diameter pipe, a matching cone can be fabricated. You should think of how the cone can be properly secured. My idea is to drill a hole into the cone and have it bolted via a metal bracket to the car chassis. Alternatively, a simple cable tie may also be sufficient depending on the position in the engine area.

bro...CAI stands for Cold Air Intake...normally to replace the stock airbox and/or to extended it to a position where air is directly obtained from the space at the front of the car...done so as to provide cooler air(i.e, colder air is supposed to have higher oxygen content) for the air-fuel mixture which would lead to better combustion...and it is supposed to increase bhp by a certain %tage....not all of them are equal though...

my two cents...

Hi Jhoo,

I would recommend a guy called Alex to DIY the CAI for you. The tubing that he uses is of higher quality than Jeep Chee. Plus he does all the proper steps of heat shielding the CAI tube and securing it well. He has done a couple of our cars. The cost will be more affordable than JC. Will PM you the estimate.

Called him that day, like you've said he's doing his time in the army [:p] . Conversation was cut short, he's very busy, looks like got to wait till after CNY.

I'm curious with this CAI attachment... If I go back to CA for... let's say 60k servicing... won't they say "hey, u've mod the engine. We consider ur warranty voided. Take ur car and go home"? [dizzy]
