I dun think it is feasible to remove your heatshield, as you will only be exposed to more hot air after that. The Simota heatshield helps draws cool air from the front of the bonnet... not sure how successfule is that as more cold air feeds normally are donw from the front lower bumper....

Can it be the heatshield is too small to hold sufficient air to be sucked in by the filter...suffocation? Since the heatshield is black...it tends to absorb heat from the engine bay..thus the air inside the shield is still hot when the car is stationary. However, when the car is moving...then colder air from outside will be pushed in.

This might explain why low end torqueis loss.

That could very well be one of the reason... but still I'm in no position to comment cos I dun own a Simota intake previously, I'm running on TopFuel intake with Twister filter....

Bro Accordvtec will be in a better position to advise you...

Hi there,

The induction from the Simota is very loud. nod.gif

Recently changed to the Green Cotton Dynatwist [also known as the "Twister"]. Induction growl is deeper. nod.gif

Pick up is better now as well.

Will try to post pics when I manage to transfer from my digicam. tongue.gif

Youve got PM. nod.gif

Basically, there are 3 types of "covers", the aluminium [silver] one, a clear/transparent one where you can see the green cone inside, and the carbon fibre one, which is the most expensive. dizzy.gif

But the induction sound is pirate.gif
