Well, "safety" has two components: active and passive, and unfortunately most people only pay attention to the latter (airbags, yada yada yada...). But active safety - the ability to avoid an accident in the first place - is IMO more crucial, where a good engine, steering, brakes and handling all come into play. And a TC'ed V6 will definitely help here...

To active & passive also no different, as long as if there's accident, sure got something wrong-Human or Cars.

To me as much as grap the safety figure on car, better make the in-cell cabin as a shield to avoid and accident effects.

The XC90 has a low car-height bumper bar which will initiate the other "victim car's" crumple zones and airbag system rather than like conventional SUVs cause standard cars to plow under the SUV, now that's one helluva active safety
