Wrxblue 1st Gear January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 (edited) what car are you driving? and what is your purpose of lowering and your requirements? for looks or improve handling and braking? it never be able to compare which is better just comparing to each without considering your requirements and criteria in evaluation.it is better to compare the products with your requirements or what you want and purpose. its just like asking BMW vs Mercedes, which is better??? by the way, its SACHS..not SACH hope this help to set your direction and selection right.. Wrxblue 1st Gear January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 (edited) well, the best is to check with the guys which has installed the sets for their car. take a ride in the car and if possible even test driving it...feel it for yourself. ride and comfort and handling is very subjective especially when we mere mortal doesnt have the equipment or knowledge to even make a complete justification to the product. what we can do on our public roads is to decide how its feel and to one self expectation, not forgetting everyone's expectation is difference again. so even if someone here tells you which one is better..unless he drives the same car, same driver, same expectation...you will never get a complete answer, thats only his/her opinion not a justification. so go try it for yourself. if you are from VOGS, the vios forum, i am sure alot of guys can help you will your decision. but if you ask me, the difference in between coilover( just an assembly of a adjustment chassis with internal shock absorber) and lowering kit(sports shocks with matching lowering springs) is that the ride height can be adjusted and some coilover has damping adjustments. But the question asked is, do you need to adjust your ride height and damping all the time??? do you drive on difference kind of roads all the time?? eg: track, highways, bumpy roads etc or you just want a suitable lowered ride height and sportier feel and handling and will never want to go back to the workshop again for any adjustment. its all bear down to what you want. good luck in your search. Jamesgetz 4th Gear January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 if i recall, i think Sage is from Taiwan. btw, i have nothing against taiwanese brands but thought it would be good to clarify since pp tends to think Sage is Jap brand. Sage manufactures loads of other products like magnets, volt stabilisers, blah. Don't think they are a specialist in suspensions systems like Sachs. IMHO, Sachs and Sage is a whole of difference. Wrxblue 1st Gear January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 yea...Taiwan is land of copies of original eg: Tien in jap..OTein in Taiwan HKS in Jap ..D2 in Taiwan you can see the similarity in design but then the quality of materials used is questionable. pick up a Option(Taiwan version) will give you the whole ranges copiers... Stanley Clutched January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 used sachs for my fabia, the ride was hard enough (for me) and handling was better. it didn't turn out soft as quickly as claimed by my fren and the workshop. but dun know abt sage and sachs on vios... ↡ Advertisement
