Citroen3 Neutral Newbie January 23, 2005 Share January 23, 2005 (edited) Hi all, I am currently driving a Citroen C3. The problem I am facing with this car is that after switch on and off the car, loud banging noises can be heard. It should be noises from the suspension. The car has been sent back to Advance Automobiles for this problem for 3 times already. It seems that they do not have the solution for this problem too. Any citroen owners facing similar problem? Any solutions? Thanks a lot. Edited January 23, 2005 by Citroen3 ↡ Advertisement

Xxer Clutched January 24, 2005 Share January 24, 2005 Hi there I'm driving a Xsara, and hv not experience anything like that. The suspension on C3 is relatively simple; MacPherson front, torsion beam rear. Torsion beam is a very cheap and simple set up and seldom hv problems. I suggest u go to Thomas & Partners at AMK Autopoint for a second opinion. They r Authorised Workshop for Citroen and is authorised to do warranty repair. Tell him Ivan recommend u.... Renegade Neutral Newbie January 24, 2005 Share January 24, 2005 Hi there, And, first and foremost, welcome to MCF. While I'm not a Citroen person, I'd say that having loud banging noises after switching on and off the car doesn't sound natural regardless of car you're driving. While the suspension may be suspect here, I'm curious what the people at AA have said - after all, there's nothing more difficult to address than a blind issue. Could it be something else more/less serious ? Case in point - I knew someone who drove a 1st generation Honda City which used to result in some weird creaking sound in the rear when the engine's stopped. While there were lots of theories (including suspension problems), the culprit actually ended up being some problem with the rear brake pads (I think they were drum brakes) and was related to neglect of some sort. Citroen3 Neutral Newbie January 24, 2005 Author Share January 24, 2005 Thank you very much for all your opionions. Where is AMK Autopoint btw? Selling the car now will definitely incurred a hugh loss. But if it is a brake pad problem, shouldn't it cause the sound throughout the journey? And C3 is disc brake for both front and back. One thing for sure is that the sound is getting louder and louder by the days. Thats why is quite worrying. Thanks again. ↡ Advertisement
