Stevegring Neutral Newbie January 25, 2005 Author Share January 25, 2005 Gosh..that's going to be expensive. I think that the design of the car might be slightly different from Asia's. Thanks alot.
Octopus 3rd Gear January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 On tyre pressure, 230 for front tyres and 220 for rear tyres....somewhere around that region and you should be fine. On engine oil, since our car is old, better to use HDEO for the first few oil change (every 5000km) to clean out the engine. Then maybe can consider to switch to lighter weight oil or stick to HDEO. If you've question on engine oil, Genie47 is the man to talk to.
Unknown_G7 Neutral Newbie January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 Why don't you try Autobac? Btw the manual only show EE90 instead of your ride EE100 as both cars are having the same thing except for their bodies.

Stevegring Neutral Newbie January 27, 2005 Author Share January 27, 2005 Hi mate! I got my car yesterday and find that the performance of the engine is good except for the timing belt, which shows sign of wear through the hearing of knocking sound inside the cover. The air con was suddenly downed when I drove back. Fortunately, I got two mths warranty and the dealer is settling it now. My parents really like the vehicle's performance and find it spacious and powerful. By the way, can you tell me what HDEO is? Please elaborate on it brother. Stevegring Neutral Newbie January 27, 2005 Author Share January 27, 2005 Hello Vin.. how much did you pay for your repair on your air con compressor? Was it the 2nd hand one or the new one? I think I might need to replace eventually. Since I have 6 years and 7 mths left, I might as well change the new one. What is delo 400? Can you elaborate please? Octopus 3rd Gear January 27, 2005 Share January 27, 2005 Hi bro, congratulation on getting a car you like. Good to know that the performance is good. As for the timing belt, I've spent around $380 to get it replaced. The costs included timing belt, 4 nos of bearings (to tension the timing belt), new water pump, a short pipe at the water pump suction c/w rubber hose, 2 nos oil seals, engine cover gasket, and labour costs. I can give you the address of the shop where I done my timing belt if you need it. HDEO is engine oil manufactured for diesel engine use, but it can also be use on petrol engine. Example include Caltex Delo 400 15W40 and Mobil Delvac MX 15w40. Basically if its 15W40 weight, its likely to be a HDEO. Engine oil meant for diesel engine have 'CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF-2, etc' stated on the bottle. Engine oil meant for petrol engine have 'SL, SJ, SH, etc' stated on the bottle. If you see 'C??-?' and 'S?' appearing on the bottle, its probably a HDEO suitable for petrol engine use. Advantages of HDEO include better detergent and additative to clean the engine and at the same time rejuvernate the oil seals. Its a little bit on the heavy side(higher viscosity) for new engines, but will do nicely for old engine like ours. It can also be use up to 10,000 km before the next oil change as its quite a tough engine oil. PS: Genie47, please correct me if my understanding of HDEO is incorrect. Octopus 3rd Gear January 27, 2005 Share January 27, 2005 Oh ya, by the way, can you check your car engine to see if its '2E' or '3E' written/embossed on your engine block? Also check with the tag plate in the engine bay and see if it matches with the lettering on the engine. Thanks.
