Renegade Neutral Newbie January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 Wouldn't it be more appropriate to share the respective driver's driving habits ?
Parkwalker Clutched January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 Someone told me that local fuels do not go well with the FSI engine. As a result, the full fuel economy capabilities cannot be realised. Not sure about twinport though. Maybe the same
Redeel Neutral Newbie January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 Sounds like the same excuse they gave for the GDI... eddie
Fluffy Clutched January 19, 2005 Author Share January 19, 2005 we don't have the low sulfur fuel found in europe or japan....... so for the FSI ..... how did they managed to bring it in? wonder why there is the golf FSI 1.6, but no A3 1.6 FSI ..
Genie47 1st Gear January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 Twinport is just an overglorified variable intake system which VTEC craps all over. I believe can use any of the local fuels.
Renegade Neutral Newbie January 20, 2005 Share January 20, 2005 (edited) "...we don't have the low sulfur fuel found in europe or japan....... so for the FSI ..... how did they managed to bring it in? wonder why there is the golf FSI 1.6, but no A3 1.6 FSI ..." Well, some chap close to FSI sources insisted that, "...our fuels are clean enough wat...". Whatever he meant by that.... As for why one brought in the FSI and the other didn't, let me put on my conspiracy theory cap here and ponder....ponder....perhaps one cares about the detrimental effect of the fuel situation here on the actual outcome of the engine and the other doesn't care ? Or maybe it's another case of "no-market".... Edited January 20, 2005 by Renegade
