Soya Supersonic January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 and what price range are you talking about? i doubt for the price of st115 u can get the F1. for my 2054516 st115 is $125 ea. u cannot compare ST115 to F1 lah. diff category altogther. F1s are compared to SO3, PS2, P-Zero, etc and in that company, it's a bargain.
Protege 1st Gear January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 As above. Why you choose it? Which is more performance oriented? True or False?(Stamford has a report on ST115 and CSC2 and they have the same rating) Go for the Preceda, I am on 30k already and its still very good. Wear rate is low and performance and noise level is good. Drove from Malacca back to Singapore at 140km/h in heavy rain also no aquaplaning!!
Madsumm 1st Gear January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 Hi Surf, I think you should wait for the scrub-in period of about 1000KM first. Then maybe you can do a review again. Rgds
Surf2004 Clutched January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 Already scrubbed-in for 10days and >1000km liao...still as good ! No regret. But I wonder how G3 fare as compared to Preceda...
Teddi Neutral Newbie January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 Preceda is definitely a better choice over G3 if you are looking at 16" and above. Preceda (Made In Thailand) is second to Goodyear F1 (made In germany) in terms of performance.
Leonknapp Clutched January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 As above. Why you choose it? Which is more performance oriented? True or False?(Stamford has a report on ST115 and CSC2 and they have the same rating) Preceda is a much better tyre. quieter but more importantly lasts much longer. My set has lasted over 70k km and are still relatively quiet compared to other performance tyres. Not to mention the grip is still above average despite the mileage. According to my regular tyre shop guy he says that based on my wear rate I can easily clock another 10+k on these tyres. The reason for such good durability is because they are catered for local road conditions. Expect ST115 to last only about 40k before going quite bald. But! I must admit that based on sidewall design ST115 is really much nicer especially on low profile sizes and have good rim protectors. Preceda's are boring and the rim protector is too small. Cheers! Jamesgetz 4th Gear January 30, 2005 Share January 30, 2005 great minds think alike... love the ST115 sidewall thread design which looks v aggressive and protrudes more to the side. precedas look more tame. another good thing abt ST115 is the rim protector which bulges outwards and is pretty effective price-wise, i think ST115 is slightly cheaper than precedas

Mavvy Clutched February 1, 2005 Share February 1, 2005 yokos darn bad leh.... bad experience with it.. GIII not yet.... how izzit ? better than precedas ?
Zoomer Clutched February 1, 2005 Share February 1, 2005 (edited) M using GIII on my current ride... it seems like a better tire as its more grippy in the dry... for wet performance, I hv gone up to 130km/h on NS without aquaplaning. Bt the downside is the noise. Its slightly noisier than the average tire... BTW my mileage is abt 15k on the GIII n running 205/50R16 n the wear-rate s superb... still looks like new threads to me Edited February 1, 2005 by Zoomer ↡ Advertisement
