Clio Neutral Newbie January 9, 2005 Share January 9, 2005 As above. Why you choose it? Which is more performance oriented? True or False?(Stamford has a report on ST115 and CSC2 and they have the same rating) ↡ Advertisement
Vamp Neutral Newbie January 9, 2005 Share January 9, 2005 At that price range, if u want performance, comfort and quiet tyres, go for Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. Best value for money and performance currently.
Clio Neutral Newbie January 10, 2005 Author Share January 10, 2005 and what price range are you talking about? i doubt for the price of st115 u can get the F1. for my 2054516 st115 is $125 ea.
Vivioman Neutral Newbie January 10, 2005 Share January 10, 2005 I used ST115s before and found them noisy and wear quite fast as they are considered "performance" tyre. Now on 512s, still noisy, but wear rate is better... Not sure about Preceda though...maybe I'll try that one next!
Protege323 Neutral Newbie January 11, 2005 Share January 11, 2005 Agree, I am using st115 too and planning to change after 40k cos its going bald (front). Heard about preceda as well as GR80, any comment, heard its quite good? st115 offers quite a good grip in both wet and dry condition but for noise, well its not very quiet though. Assassin Clutched January 11, 2005 Share January 11, 2005 Preceda is more performance oriented while GR80 is more comfort.
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear January 11, 2005 Share January 11, 2005 Using Preceda on my Sunny. Good grip and relatively quiet.
Assassin Clutched January 12, 2005 Share January 12, 2005 Have tested 17" Precedas on a 325iA and the grip is good, noise wise is subjective, to me its ok.
Bigpicture Neutral Newbie January 13, 2005 Share January 13, 2005 If the price range is the same, go for the Michelin Preceda.
Mavvy Clutched January 13, 2005 Share January 13, 2005 GR80 boh 14" ah ?
Clio Neutral Newbie January 14, 2005 Author Share January 14, 2005 price is $100 difference for a set. my concern is handling and road confident = grip and steering feel.
Bigpicture Neutral Newbie January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 If i gather correctly, you are saying the ST115 is @$125 each and the Preceda's is @$150 each.. Both are UHP (ultra high performance) tyres, so as far as handling and road confidence is concern, there are both the same. ST115 is a directional center groove tyre while Precedas are asymetrical tyres. Asymetrical tyres give you good connering feel and confident. I can feel it immediately compared with my previous Pirelli P6000. With this price difference, i would still recommend the Precedas over the ST115. -Cheers

Assassin Clutched January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 So you going for Precedas ah ?
Jamesgetz 4th Gear January 25, 2005 Share January 25, 2005 if i recall, ST115 and Precedas are not UHP. for falken, RT215 is a UHP tyre and for Mich, their UHP will be PS/PS2. ST115 and Precedas are high performance tyres with emphasis on comfort and quietness
Mavvy Clutched January 26, 2005 Share January 26, 2005 Already for 13k leow.. Pilot Precedas.. dump my yoko away...
