Hogster Neutral Newbie January 5, 2005 Share January 5, 2005 Hi All, Just like to check if anyone here did their tints at Perfect Window Films. I'm looking at the basic packages bewteen $200 to $300 as my car is parked/used 98% indoors or at night. Care to comment if it helps block out some heat. Thanks in advance. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement

Kaer Neutral Newbie January 5, 2005 Share January 5, 2005 I think somewhere in this forum there's a thread for a group buy for perfectwindow. They have this promo of you fit the tint with them and intro 5 others and they refund u ya tint monies. Find 5 and divide the dollars!
Hogster Neutral Newbie January 5, 2005 Author Share January 5, 2005 Thanks, will look for it. Anyone got feedback on the tints?
Soya Supersonic January 5, 2005 Share January 5, 2005 their workmanship & service not bad. but the films used for the $200 package are the cheaper darker variety and has very low heat rejection (ard 18% onli) and transparency not that clear. i would recommend u go for their $488 package which uses Ray Barrier film (quite good & clear) for the front half (70% VLT) and the dark tint for the rear half (25% VLT). confirm chio JDM-look. Hogster Neutral Newbie January 5, 2005 Author Share January 5, 2005 (edited) Hey Soya, thanks for the info. Actually got a friend with the $488 package, never had the chance to try it because it was raining the entire day when I was in his car. If the heat rejection is only 18% than i think it's a little weak. Don't mind doing it if it is around 50% since I'm hardly in the sun and there are much cheaper ones in the market for the same spec. Will be looking for other brands then. Thanks again. Edited January 5, 2005 by Hogster

Hogster Neutral Newbie January 6, 2005 Author Share January 6, 2005 (edited) A little bit of both, at least my car will not feel so hot when I park under the sun during lunch time. The thing is when I called them to check they told me it is about 50%. Did you check with them the 1 ply or 2 ply ones?? Kraft Neutral Newbie January 6, 2005 Share January 6, 2005 I just installed their films yesterday. Package is Lex tint Economy. Its $250, damn, missed a few days, coz before 1 Jan it was $200 under promo. Anyway, this package is, the front films are from Sumitomo(Japan), higher transparency(73% VLT), but 50% heat reduction. However, the back films are from USA, darker tints (28% VLT), but only 30% heat reduction. You can actually choose various VLTs, also can have both Sumitomo films which have higher heat reduction on both front and back, but its more transparent. According to your preference, whether you want dark or more heat reduction. Quite happy with the service, and professionalism. I asked the guy to remove the 'LEX TINT' words pasted on the back screen, then he saw the film wasn't properly fixed on, he drove my car back in to fix it. I do believe they try their best to 'make our visit a PERFECT one'. haha. FYI, there's a $388 standard package which also rejects UV rays like, Suncool(around the same price). There's also $688, RayBarrier, premium film, same category as V Cool and Huper Optik.
Hogster Neutral Newbie January 6, 2005 Author Share January 6, 2005 (edited) Hi Kraft, Thanks for the info. I've just called them to confirm, the single ply has an IR rejection of 20 to 30% and they are darker. The 2 ply ones has 50% IR rejection and they are lighter in shade. Funny thing is both are $300 regardless of the no. of plys. One more question, do you feel the difference when driving under the sun now with your new tints? Anyway, might go for the Ray Barrier for the front windshield and the normal 2 ply ones for the rest of the car. Was quoted $400. Will see how this Sat. Cheers.
