Garlic 1st Gear December 29, 2004 Share December 29, 2004 Was going tru' some threads and many people says that Royal Purple thins out easily and cannot offer good protection after that. Is it true? Find it very cheap though, $39 for 4 bottles. ↡ Advertisement
Audiorook Neutral Newbie December 29, 2004 Share December 29, 2004 (edited) not true.... Did an UOA of the RP10W30, and that showed that the RP stayed in grade over 9,504km/5.5mths. And this was on a fairly hot Ipsum engine. http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultima...ic;f=3;t=002032 I feel that the RP is a good value Synthetic oil. Hope to have an even clearer opinion once I get the 2nd UOA of the RP10W30 in a few months' time. Edited December 29, 2004 by Audiorook

Tito00 Clutched March 6, 2005 Share March 6, 2005 Thought $9.50 per bottle. 4 multiply by $9.50 equal $38 only rite?? How come most bros here say $39??
Octopus 3rd Gear March 7, 2005 Share March 7, 2005 I think last time the price is $9.75 per bottle. $9.75 X 4 bottles = $39.

Felt that it is a lot rough and not as smooth
Madsumm 1st Gear March 23, 2005 Share March 23, 2005 Same grade? There are a few grade like SL. For different weight oil. You need to check too. I've used RP for a few oil changes in my previous Focus. Good and good enough for SG. I've got the 10w30 from them. For value price, its worth every cent. Maybe one thing you can think about. Since its so cheap, it might make more sense to have a more shorter oil change then you have now, even though normal interval is ok.
Tito00 Clutched March 23, 2005 Share March 23, 2005 Shell Helix ultra was 5w40..using rp 5w30..felt less power n more rough. Now like what it states...more horsepower n etc
Nine_eleven 2nd Gear March 23, 2005 Share March 23, 2005 so in ur opinion, SHU is better than RP?
Admin Clutched March 23, 2005 Share March 23, 2005 Why don't you try Amsoil? The feedback from those who bought it is very good.
Madsumm 1st Gear March 23, 2005 Share March 23, 2005 Hi, Check your car for the ratings its suppose to use (minimum) For you to use 5w30, it will be lighter feel and the FC should be better the 5w40. Aiyah. HP and power really depends.. especially on your engine. So please don't take that word for it. If you want, use back the same viscosity and test with your previous Shell Helix. Tito00 Clutched March 24, 2005 Share March 24, 2005 That's what I think too..5w30 shd be lighter feel but i dun get it...!! What's wrong man? ↡ Advertisement
