Does preceda squeel before giving way?

Hi guys, I've just changed from Aspec db to mich preceda 195/55/15.

The wet grip is definitely better than the abs happy DB.

As for dry grip, I've noticed the car sliding at the rear when pushed hard. One thing that worries me is that the tire didn't squeak or produce any sound at the limit during hard turning.

Since it was raining for the past 2 days, I was hoping it could be that the road was lightly wet, or i was imagining tthe rear was giving way.

Of course, my tires only run in about 200km, but i don't think that makes such a big difference

All new tyres come with a layer of wax or oil to prevent the compound from drying up during storage. You need to run-in about 500km to get rid of this layer. Avoid hard driving or braking as the layer makes the tyres slippery (esp when wet). You may be right to feel the tyres sliding and its a clear sign it has not been scrubbed in yet.

Btw, how much did you pay for the 195/55 and where did you get them?

I see... Thanks brother!

Didn't know the run in period is so long..

paid 110 ea. Quiet tires.. comparable to aspec db during run-in period.

pumped 240 front 220 rear... slightly bumpy.. should I reduce the pressure?

Hi Sturtles,

Need some feedback from you on your Preceda....

I am planning to change my car tire to either P6000 or Preceda... I have more or less decided on Preceda but the tire shop keep telling me Preceda is made in Thailand now and the quality is not very good. Is your Preceda made in Japan or Thailand? How is the tire so far?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

doesnt matter where's it made fm in my view. i've run mebbe +40k km with my precedas (probably thai cos i got it cheap). still grips well in both wet or dry. would recommend it abv my previous yoko evs100 which was good for <30k km. after that the evs very noisy and wears out fast.

The price for 195/55/15 is ard 110 ea.

As quiet as aspec db, better wet grip but haven't played in the wet yet. More confident in stopping harder and later without abs kicking in. My db's used to wheelspin when they are in puddles like kids playing water

Dry grip is good, but don't expect crazy grips, if db has average dry grip, preceda is above average.

The comfort, silence and wear resistence is what i bought it for. Preceda is in the performance tire category too.. so the aspec db is really expensive junk
