Does this speedworks place does the whole CAI thingy? cause i'm thinking of changing to the open pods one, probably apexi dual funnel? anyone tried it? comments?just wondering if they'll do the heat shield and the pipings.Rough estimate of the cost? And are there any valves or something like that to prevent water from entering the CAI? Sorry to ask so many questions... i'm an ultra new bird to cars. cheers! Bluesbro Neutral Newbie December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 Can the Apexi cold air intake fit all cars ? Apexi filer is the maintenance free, dry type right ? heard dat its performance and filtration wise its better than HKS and K&N according to a test done ... think will need them to do a heat shield as well
Koren Clutched December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 performance is indirectly proportionate to filtration.. the more airflow.. most dirt gets past..
Normal_aspirated Clutched December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 yarlor, no dirt oso mean lesser air.......cannot hv best of both worlds.
Nightchaser Neutral Newbie December 9, 2004 Share December 9, 2004 (edited) Does anyone know where I can buy the Apexi intake and approx how much it would cost? I sell you mine at 80 bucks, brand new not opened. Bought mths ago universal type should fit most types of car. Why selling? cuz I decided against doing CAI for my car but bought it without thinking. Thanks If you want to fit CAI, either put it way away from the heat... or shield it. Else it will not work effectively. Elfenstar 3rd Gear December 19, 2004 Author Share December 19, 2004 Thanks for all the advice. I've decided on going for the new KnN apollo. Its an all in one filter + heat shield + CAI + ram pipe. I can DIY the fitting easily and I;m gonna drill a hole in front of my SMIC piping to get the air thats coming from the intake for it so its pretty mess free in the engine bay.
