I've been looking around for the gauge but got confused over the many choices available... Looking for a easy-to-handle, reliable and accurate type, preferably not those made in Taiwan or Korea...

Any to recommend? Thanks!

Go to Mustafa and buy the Stethogauge. Costs only $12.50 there. Compared to the whopping $16-24 price range you get from the auto accessories shops. Only measures in PSI.

Digital isn't good enough. There are variations. The dial types are still better and the Stethogauge I mentioned is all metal construction with pressure release. Has rubber tubing for flexibility.

Offer still damn expensive lah! Stethogauge good enough for me already. $12.50 who can find lower?

Too bad they don't sell Milton pencil gauges locally. The dial type must be very well kept. Drop them and their readings go off. Machiam like dropping zeroed rifle. The pencil type is simpler in design and difficult to bring variations in their readings but good ones are hard to find. Milton is still the best.

I don't trust electronic ones.

isnt good enough? what variations? in what ways are dial types better?

so long the $10 digital gauge shows the same reading as a $30 michelin dial gauge, its more than good enough.

There is this problem called calibration. If the digital one goes off there is nothing you can do to save it. The dial type can be re-calibrated if you know who to bring it to. Ditto with the pencil Milton types.

BTW, $12.50 for a robust all metal dial guage with pressure release /w rubber tubing so that you can read at crazy angles is very good. I don't know Michelin makes dial gauges at $30. For that price, I'd rather pay more for a Snap-On laugh.gif.

It depends who is using the gauge, for those in racing tracks they need very high accuracy. For tyre shops they need a tyre gauge that has wide range of reading and valve adaptors to take care of cars right up to trucks. For DIYs, what they need is a simple gauge that will meet the owners need in terms of tyre pressure information and thread depth.
