how do u store your claybar? submerged in water?

Just spray some instant detailer on it and bag it into a Ziploc

I suppose if ziploc is airtight, it shouldn't dry out...

No problem That's how I stored my claybar but my ziploc had a hole so the claybar got all sticky with the ziploc *yucks*

How about wrapping it in clear wrap (gladwrap?)?

Won't that be air tight too...and less messy?

Claybar is essentially like clay!

 

It's a paint friendly bar of donno what (some chemical cocktail I guess) that lifts off debris embedded into the paint and glides over a lubricant layer to clean up the paint before polishing and waxing.

Autobacs carries Jap brand claybar and Autoplus at New Industrial Road has Mothers Claybar Kit.

 

Some hardware stores have Meguiar's Claybar too.

Which is the cheapest but good type of claybar to get?

Donno about cheapest but best IMHO is Mothers claybar. The Meguiars bar is too sticky and I haven't tried Jap bars but some commented that they are too hard.

You can buy Soft 99 claybar from Concord. It's located at the basement of Golden Wall Centre (where Shell station is) along Rochor Canal Road, near SLS. About $10.
