Component Speaker vs Coaxial?

Components use an external "box" to split the singnal between the highs and mids (lows will be mostly filtered out as the speakers can reproduce the sound) as such there will be better clarity and the sharpness. Coaxials have an internal circuit to channel the respective frequencies to the right cones. As they are sharing the same magnet and parts, the sound will be a lil more muffled and less sharp. In addition components allow you to optimise the placement of the tweeters for better sound too. Normally a pair of components at the front with coaxial at the back and an 8inch subbie should do the job pretty well if you're not going into dB comps.
