GoopPwr Clutched November 29, 2004 Share November 29, 2004 the tread on most effective mod started me thinking. is there one straight forward and/or simple upgrade or mod that you've experianced that had given you a better drive, in terms of better response, smoother ride, better FC, quieter ride etc. i am thinking as fundamental, straight forward as spark plug and ignition cables ( both of which are not conclusive ), engine oil etc. as simple as simply taking out and replacing. appreciate any input. thanks ! ↡ Advertisement

Dwoon 1st Gear November 29, 2004 Share November 29, 2004 CAI will give you some improvement (like the slight increase of power when driving in the cool night or rainy day). The compromise is that the air intake sound can sometimes be quite loud, depending on your ride. Also, if the intake is made too low, the risk of sucking up water during floods is higher. Cheers! I take K&N air filter is the simplest mod you can do to get extra efficiency at low cost. You can DIY easily. If you're already driving a new high performance car such, you don't really to change your spark plugs. Regards,
Nine_eleven 2nd Gear November 30, 2004 Share November 30, 2004 nothing works better than simply maintaining your engine properly, change oil at the correct time, use appropriate viscosity oils for your type and condition of driving use appropriate petrol grade. check your tire pressure, keep your radiator coolant fresh to keep engine running in optimum efficiency, keep spark plugs clean for efficient fuel combustion air filter changed when dirty dun carry un-needed items in the boot of the car tires should never be worn out. think along this line, and you'll never need any add-ons ever..and achieve your objective you laid out. it cost enough money as it is to maintain a perfectly running machine
Stingerquek Clutched November 30, 2004 Share November 30, 2004 Make your ride lighter by: 1)Change to lighter rims 2)reduce body weight 3)Remove all the ABS Airbags in your vechicle (Heard that 1 airbag weight about 10~15kg) 4)Remove the rear seat ...............And your ride will fly

GoopPwr Clutched December 2, 2004 Author Share December 2, 2004 you know...this is what i believe as well. Those Fundamentals... seemed simple enu, but they are the fundamentals. Just that with all so much talks on after market enhancement, one or two caught my attention. Even keeping to the above can have some problem. For eg tyre pressure, some petrol station air pumps are faulty and at times the reading is way off. With engine oil such as shell and mobil costing so much more, together with the talks on other engine oil, the temptation is getting unbearable . Though i must add that i have good experiance with mobil. other than changing the spark plug, is there a way to keep them clean ? DIY? thansk for the input bro.
