The SE that helped me is Patrick ... there were 3 SEs around when I stepped in. Since he approached me ... I thought I should just let him do his job and see how later ...

According to Pat, the high biting point is kinda norm ... but since I have tried Oct 1.8T which is using the Passat plaform ... I should think so that the gear shift and biting point are more desirable. I found the distance travelled by gear stick kinda far too. Its much closer and smoother on Oct 1.8T.

I am keen on the meetup ... 24Feb Kallang Macs right?

Didn't have the time to test drive Mondeo yesterday. Ubi and Sin Ming quite far apart lah. Anyway, going again next weekend. This time round will surely test drive the Mondeo.

The bit about the door is perfectly true. Tody is much sturdier. I let it swing close naturally using the last spring and the door slam shut perfectly. This is not so in Focus, Ibiza nor Cordoba.

Hey, I didn't know about the original HU. The SE said that Kenwood will be fixed. Guess I will have to insist on the original then. I am not such a fan of Kenwood, but I won't mind if its Naka.

Thanks buddy. We will continue here. BM is definitely offering Kenwood (to my disappointment) when I was asked yesterday. Even Skoda was offering Naka on Oct 1.8T. The new shipment in March is supposed to come with the original HU complete with code locking.

One surprising thing though was that the safety window feature is only offered on the driver side in Tody. Oct 1.8T has it on both driver and passenger side while Focus has it on all four.

When I question the SE about it ... he said, "Just to protect the driver only" [:p] I was thinking ... aren't the passengers just as impt? [;)] But at the end of the day, its one car which has enough features which really challenge my memory. No regrets!

I think the safety feature is applicable to all 4 doors.

Have not ry it so cannot confirm. Need to check with the guys from SEAT SG.

I would reckon that the feature is the same for all VAG cars.

Shouldn't it ?

Nope ... window safety feature as per following:

Toledo - only driver's window

Oct 1.8T - two front windows only

Focus - all four windows

I am not sure about VW and Audi ... maybe the others can tell us.

OK... now I know.

Can't see the logic why they only offer to driver's side.

(or maybe, ..... BM has an additional option ....... 3 sets of handcuffs for your companion passenger.... ) [;)]

Advertising line.......

" great features for restraining your passenger,....., and of course to keep their hands away from the windows........... "

[:p]

Yup, at least driver is safe when collecting carpark ticket and handling over passports [:p] Just not too helpful when robber's / kidnapper's hijacker's hand come through the window. [:|]

An after thought.....

I was wondering,.... just when would a driver close up the driver's side window on himself when his hand is stretch out ???? [crazy]

Chances are the driver would close up one of the other three windows w/o knowing that someone might have stretch their hand outside the windows..... (especially kids )

Just a thought....... probably the engineer need to go for some 'logic' upgrading course..... [;)]

haha ... know what you mean ... but ...

I have tried it a few times ... after pressing to close the window ... found that I have not taken back my change ... so would quickly extend my hand to grap the change before the window closed on me. [:p]

I felt so ... anyway, it doesn't seem fitting anyway ... jutting out from the console ... its really an eye sore. Furthermore, the one they fitted was just to plasticky. Does not complement the Tody's interior.

there is a thread on HUs in the SEAT SG forum. take a look.

the aura is supposed to be good enuff for most. for me, i fell in love with the blaunkpunt at first sight so got that instead of the aura.

Doubt I will wanna switch Momo rims + Kenwood for Aura HU. Despite the latter being more expensive (which how am I supposed to know anyway [:p] ), I would just insist on the original.

I saw a gold Tody in the showroom yesterday and found the usual interior fitting really soft, with a nice beige to go with the gold exterior. Am really considering if I should change to leather or should I use it first and switch to leather later on. Anyone with opinions?

Btw, found that the specs given by BM differ from those at seat.com. Anyone has any idea why? I am refering to fuel consumption.

Does Tody's computer gives you fuel consumption while you are driving? I know Skoda does, but forgot to check out Tody's. I guess it should be the same unless one of you confirm otherwise.

I suspect its a tiny door hinge misalignment. the method you describe works on all doors of my car except for the left rear door. There is an almost inaudible click just before the latch engages.

The bit about the door is perfectly true. Tody is much sturdier. I let it swing close naturally using the last spring and the door slam shut perfectly. This is not so in Focus, Ibiza nor Cordoba.
