Bring to outside workshop to diagnose since it is past your warranty, no point going back C&C anyway. [sweatdrop]

Hmmm....... maybe use this opportunity to lump in an EVO's TB? [sly]

What is EVO's TB.

I know to bring to outside workshop but the way C&C puts it is in the end I may eng up going back to them cos all these are computerised and outside mechanics may not be able to do a perfect job.

Just kidding........ I dunno if the EVO's throttle body (TB) can fit nor whether it'll work.

Bring your car to a workshop knowledgeable in Mits lor......... if it's a straight replacement of the TB (stock for stock), what's there to tune? [sweatdrop] Unless it's something else which they didn't tell you...........

Does the throttle body require maintenance? What will cause TB to fail?

dont think TB will fail. After all the body is cast iron. The only thing is that it gets dirty and cleaning is required as maintenance.

There are quite a number of failure, recently my friend's vios TB fail, and I'm curious what cause it to fail.

If you did a search, quite a number of Camry from 02 to 06 have their TB fail within 60k miles, it's quite worrying figure. I also encounter a Altis Taxi having TB failure during my BKK trip.

Car cannot idle, it will stall when u leave it to idle, have to keep revving.

Did a search online but can't find what leads to a failure, what I suspect is changing of air filter from stock to a higher flow, more porous air filter which leads to more dirt entering the TB causing it to stuck?

how sure are you that it is not a problem with the idle control valve?

I'm not sure, thats why I'm asking. Idle control valve can be adjusted right? And if it's idle control valve, it should be only irregular idling?

But for my friends case, it's TB, so I wanna know what cause TB to fail.

Hi

Need help

There is this roaring sound from engine compartment when car move off from stationary sounded very rough and happens about 2000rpm onwards.

When driving on highway which rpm is normally above 2000 there is no significant sound but feels a bit of drag when below 40km/hr.

Abit like modified /leaking exhaust sound but my car is stock. Engine is smooth when accelerate at neutral, exhaust checked and not leaking.

This roaring sound will sometimes disappear and it will be smooth like baby but most of time it is around.

Let's say a single trip has 10 traffic lights and I have to pick up from stop 10 times, 7 of the times will have this rough sound and 3 will be smooth.

Tried going to mechanic three times but every time the sound does not appear .

Tried to accelerate When in neutral and is no sound thus engine should be fine and exhaust not leaking.
