Np. Mine is SJX. Still have 2 yrs 8 mths actually. But recent COE price drop is enticing. I reckoned the govt will adjust quota, policies etc to optimise their tax income through the COE, unlikely COE price will drop alot barring economic crisis. And also want a new ride for the family (and myself).

You plan to get a new ride or already bought?

I'm planning (which includes considering whether or not I actually need one) for a new car currently. Almost moved when COE dropped to 36k recently, tried to deliberate with the help of the good folks at the "2017 COE September COE first bid thread" and concluded that it's very unlikely for me to be better off if I buy in 2018, so waiting to see what Wed's bid is like.

How is your HRV FC so far?

Yours is MIF OR MIT?

I mean MI Japan or Thailand?

My ex-HRV (MIT) averages 11.5 km/l.

The MIJ HRV should average around 14+km/l, according to folks at the Vezel/HRV FB club.

Hi,

What I will suggest is your friend to go test drive both. I had test drive both City SV and Civic 1.6 with my 2 kids and wife (very important  [:p]  [:p] ).

The City back space is smaller than the Civic. sitting 3 adults will be a bit tight. Driving wise, i prefer Civic because of better stability during the turns and during acceleration, once it passed around 5-6,000 RPM, the city can be quite noisy as compare to the Civic.

What i like about the Civic as compare to the City :

1) Multi Zone aircon

2) E-Brakes and Brakes Hold function is very useful

3) E-con mode

4) sporty exterior

5) internal is much better than City.

Hopes this helps.  [:p]  better to go test drive yourself to have a feel coz test driving is free.  [laugh]  [laugh]

Go for the Civic!! Its better than City unless $$ is an issue.

But do take note that the Civic chassis is very low. It might be a problem for elderly or those with bad knees to get in and out comfortably. Otherwise, Civic is a good choice.

Civic is a nice drive. Punchy refined engine, but let down by the unresponsive CVT gearbox. However, I feel that the cabin finishing is not worthy of the 1.5T's asking price.

A Qashqai or Tucson costs less and the cabin is better equipped.

For that kind of price for a civic, I would just pay lesser n go for a mazda 3 if you really want a sedan.

If the repair cost is indeed 5k, I would suggest you scrap the car, get back whatever rebate you can get and hop on to another second hand or new car.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2017/11/18/honda-odyssey-minivan-recall/878002001/

  Quote

NEW YORK — Honda is recalling about 900,000 of its Odyssey minivans because the second-row seats may tip forward if not properly latched.

The recall announced Saturday covers vehicles from the 2011-17 model years. About 800,000 of the affected minivans were sold in the United States.

Honda says it has received 46 reports of minor injuries related to the issue.

It says the Odyssey’s second-row seat may tip forward during moderate to heavy braking if it isn’t properly latched after adjusting it side-to-side or reinstalling a removed seat.

The company is working on a way to repair the issue and says it will notify owners when one is available. It will be free. Until then, Honda has put instructions for properly latching the seat on its website for owners.
