XLR8 1st Gear November 16, 2004 Author Share November 16, 2004 Quote most signifiant in terms of performance at which rpm, fc or upslope/max pax torque? Significant in terms of you can feel the difference, whether be it response or smoothness or fuel consumption better. Cos I understand for some of these products, "Xin Li Zhuo Yong", actually no improvement but becos you paid the money, you force your mind to think there is an improvement. Get my meaning? XLR8 1st Gear November 16, 2004 Author Share November 16, 2004 Quote CAI and remove the resonator if you have one. Think mine dont have. Seems like the Cold Air Mod is the hot favourite here eh. There should be significant improvement based on the votes.
Zrun Neutral Newbie November 16, 2004 Share November 16, 2004 (edited) From my experience, CAI will increase your high end RPM by 3-5hp/torque, but it'll definitely decrease your low end hp by 5-10hp. This is very obvious in a dyno chart. You lose more on the low end, you gain a little on the high end. You will only feel the difference when you hold your accelerator down, and run from 3500rpm until redline. Normal driving, you lose HP, and you lose fuel economy most likely. If you want to get good output from modding, the "minor" mod will be Unorthodox Racing Pulleys, get Crank + all accessory pulleys. You get power gain throughout low and high rpm. Forget about the old wives tales about magnets and such. Good grounding cable can help abit. Edited November 16, 2004 by Zrun

Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie November 16, 2004 Share November 16, 2004 Actually most cars have a resonator, but some care an integral part of the air-intake system so you can't remove it. Have fun..........
