Dwoon 1st Gear November 16, 2004 Share November 16, 2004 As per the topic, could those familiar kindly enlighten the effects of using wrongly gapped sparkplugs? For e.g. using a 1.1mm instead of 0.8mm gap. Thanks. ↡ Advertisement

Yeobh 4th Gear November 24, 2004 Share November 24, 2004 Too small a gap or too wide will not allow the sparks to correctly fire and ignite the atomised fuel fast enough. Always use a spark plug gap gauge to set the gap.

Yeobh 4th Gear November 28, 2004 Share November 28, 2004 Looks like more and more european cars sprak plugs must be replaced only with OEM due to the resistance of the electrole.Witht the wrong resistance you get just poor/weak spark KV output. Aftermarket type are Ok but you may have to do trial and error to the one that have performance and durabilty comparable to OEM. ↡ Advertisement
