Leekc Clutched November 13, 2004 Share November 13, 2004 Hi all, Firstly, like to say this is the best forum ever. Anybody got horror stories/comments on quality & workmanship of car grooming packages by agent? Perhaps for new car better to sign up for their in house car grooming package at least for warranty period, eg 3yrs in case any problem. Thereafer, can maybe consider DIY or external pro grooming package. Anyone care to share their thoughts/experiences? ↡ Advertisement
Marcostan 4th Gear November 13, 2004 Share November 13, 2004 Grooming is nothing to do with the warranty issue. Most of the so call agent grooming package are not done by agent themself, they just pass the job to their contractor (I call them as SUB-CON). It all depend which contractor they used and what kind of grooming products those contractor using. For my opinion that's no point to take up the grooming packaging from Agent. If you don't like to DIY, there's a lot of grooming ctr for u to choose. All depend on your own choice, AGENT or OTHERS MarcosTan Toyota Rav4
Maverick88 Neutral Newbie December 8, 2005 Share December 8, 2005 Last time my brother passed me his Shell grooming package. The place is near yishun chong bang and those buggers there behave like hooligans. Telling me when to come and when to go. The whole package going to expire in 3 months time and the malay manager told me can help me extend another 3 months. But come 3 months he told me new management can only renew one month. Then they keep pushing me to sign up for another package so that i will not lose my existing ones. I was thinking I am not going to be so stupid to put the money in their hands and let them maipulate me. This is my thought on those grooming packages. You paid them hard cold cash and when you return for grooming you are treated like dirt. Like that I might as well go for one time grooming. One thing when they asked me to sign up is like I own them like that. Kenina I am a paying customer. So those who intend to sign up for grooming packages, this is one point you need to bear in mind. One more thing this grooming crap does not help you remove the 5 cents and 10 cents dents.
Ghoonk Neutral Newbie December 8, 2005 Share December 8, 2005 man, i feel your frustration. I used to do my old car (a Lancer 1.3 LS) at the Shell at Paya Lebar, and on hindsight, while the service manager was polite, the quality of work sucked big time. Swirl marks all over the place, and they can still tell me that it's normal. I gave them a second chance and they scvrewed up again, and I never went back These days, I look at the quality of work on several occassions before I even sign the dotted line with the groomer. Some groomers do PDR. Groomworks Tua Kong has a PDR guy stationed there, so I get my dings out when I pop by for the occassional wash. Not sure if their Maxwell branch has it, but I recall it being on appointment.
Maverick88 Neutral Newbie December 9, 2005 Share December 9, 2005 Bro, my point is you give $$$ so that people can threaten you. Wat is PDR?? U mean they can get rid of the dents?? I saw this revol on the forum are they good?
Ghoonk Neutral Newbie December 9, 2005 Share December 9, 2005 Not sure who or what revol is, but PDR is the acronym for Paintless Dent Removal. This (I believe) originated out of Capitol, but there are a number of guys who do PDR today. I have 3 PDR guys who take care of my car -- for the more inaccessible dings, Lye Designs takes care of them for me Groomworks also has a PDR guy in Tua Kong, and he takes care of the dings if I happen to be in the area; finally, Ah Meng (no, not the orang utan) who used to be the contracted PDR guy with Groomworks Maxwell now run his own mobile PDR service, and I call upon when I don't have time time to go to Lye or Groomworks

Eonx Neutral Newbie December 17, 2005 Share December 17, 2005 i used to groom my car at Kah Motors when sent in for servicing, lazy lah. The job was ok only. quite expensive imho, i think it's better to go outside sign package, more worthwhile and they are dedicated to grooming only. ↡ Advertisement
