I noticed that the auto Octy's rpm is quite high when cruising. 100km/h at 3000rpm. Got once I hit 125km/h and the rpm was at 4000 and roaring! [sweatdrop]

Anyone care to comment?

Ya. Mine 100km/h is at 2700. 120km/h at 3200 like that. I've seen my cousin's old lancer, he was running at 120, but his rpm was abt 2700. So i think diff car has diff setup gear ratios. [;)]

Mine's a 03 model octy. Drop in filter with some magnets. Everything else is stock. How come my rpm so high compared to you guys?? [confused] cruising at 3000rpm and above quite "siong" for fuel consumption manz. [sweatdrop]

You can read up this for more info. http://www.germancarfans.com/...m?NewsID=2021129.001

Basically DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) uses a double-disk clutch and three shafts which allow smooth gear shifting. The other clutch pre-select/engage the next gear and ready for activation.

Currently only the Octavia TDI comes with DSG. Petrol version not available. Golf V GTI & Audi Sportback also come with it.

It's normal, mine is Octy Auto, 100km/h at 3000rpm too. sweatdrop.gif

Superb 100km/h is around 2000rpm only. thumbsup.gif

Yep, mine is a manual, at 3000rpm, it's at 100km/h. Same as my old ride (elantra). Must be common for most 1.6l manual cars.
