Whats Fuzzy Logic?

It means there's a 'computer chip' in the electronic system whereby the system 'remembers' the way you drive. For eg. there's 2 presets right

(1) For this preset, you drive it hard. So it remembers as this setting is being driven hard.

(2) For this preset, you drive like a wuss [laugh][laugh] , save petrol and all. Then it somehow remembers.

Actually i don't feel the difference also. But maybe for (1), the gears will kick down faster as you're driving it hard. [confused][confused]

Someone please verify what i have said.

I also think its the memory thing of the ECU or something. Recently I've been driving like a wimp to test out my fuel consumption. However I feel that my car is damn sluggish at the low rpms now. Torque seems to be gone. Dunno whether its related to this Fuzzy Logic thingy remembering the "wimp" mode. [:/]

u hv the base tuning setup by the onboard Engine Control Unit (ECU), this includes Read Only Memory in the EEPROM chipset. but the computer also incorporate Random Access memory, which takes information fr the car sensors and monitors them under the Closed loop. these feedbacks r kept as historic files for a period of time until it expires. in additional, any error code generated by these sensors r also logged.

an algothrim exist also inside the ECU which compares the base tuning setup against the feedback, and works out a compromised tuning commonly known as Fuzzy Logic.

when u take out the battery terminals for prolong period, the error codes may disappear along with the history files, hence resulting in "resetting of ECU"

but do bear in mind becos the algorithim is pro-active, there is no fixed performance other then the base tuning, like a band of +ve and -ve deviation along the engine torque line.

Wow, very detailed explanation. So in a nutshell could I say that this Fuzzy Logic thing actually reads your driving pattern and re-adjusts itself from the original ECU settings? Like a memory card thing right?

Yea, that could be the reason. Switch it to the other mode and drive like a maniac. All your torque and power will come back [laugh][laugh]

There goes your FC also.......a case of a HRF. [rolleyes]

Or "Limp" mode? [:p] Actually the ECU "learns" yer driving habit. I too face same experience like you too. When I'm FC conscious, the car lack power. After driving like mad after a few days, the car seem torguey. [nod] But my FC suffers. [bigcry]

Can someone explain what or how this Fuzzy Logic thing works? [confused]

Most commonly used in washing machines, it calculates the wash cycles & durations according to the load. [sweatdrop] Guess same principle as used in ECU. The load is yer right foot. [rolleyes]

You give me a good idea, can mod ECU with a toggle switch with two modes:

(1) Fuel Miser

(2) 2F2F [laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh][rolleyes]
