Beanoyip Turbocharged October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 Hey guys, to avoid embarrassing myself in the car forum. I decided to post this here. What does these terms mean? I actually searched the dictionary for these words. Cabriolet ---> Refers to a car with a folded top. So it can mean hard or soft top? Eg. CLK, Saab. Convertible ---> Refers to a topless car. Also means hard or soft top?? Coupe ---> Simply means a 2 dr car. Correct me if i was wrong in any of the above. ↡ Advertisement

Conned Clutched October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 (edited) ahhh AWD,4WD..my fav subject. AWD in todays car sales terms means full time 4 wheel driven. e.g WRX,Impreza TS,legacy, EVOs,Audis quattro, chye tiam cleaning tractors..911T,RX300,Touareg, X5...to anem a few..same sets of gears..cant select 2 or 4wd. 4WD is like those landrovers, panjeros,3 TONNERS, off road vehicles where they got a another set of gears or differential, where u can select hi,lo, for off-road purpose. selective ! hope this is clear.. wait! u testing me izzit? Virus 2nd Gear October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 Wah ! Expert sia ! Actually AWD is not true as 'spare' wheel no moving. BTW, the new 5 tonnes (replacing existing 3 & 5 tonnes) is AWD liow, don't even high/low terrain gear. There is another term "4 wheel steer", seems like no manufacturer view as a competitive plus point. ↡ Advertisement
