Cow28 Clutched October 27, 2004 Share October 27, 2004 Hello All, Those driving Kia or Lancer, just wondering if I send my car for servicing at other centres other then C&C, do I void my warrenty ? Any of u ever tried bringing their own engine oil to C&C for servicing before ? If u have, which servicing center issit and any contacts ? Just that their labor fees and engine oil is simply too expensive ... Thanks. ↡ Advertisement
Mantaone Neutral Newbie October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 (edited) Yes and no. No. If u service yr car outside once a while they dont really bother so long as no repair is needed. U will be treated as another ciustomer they earned $$$ from u Yes If anything happen after the particular servicing outside they will start questioning u U from SLC Moral of the story if u are afraid of warranrty issue stick to C&C like me intend to service at C&C cannot do this do that lah. After 3 years then i start my project. If u are not bothered after the 5K servicing go to other reputatble workshop SLC bros always mentioned Richard of Vicom Changi as he is heard a former C&C guy thus knows Lancer cars inside out. Is also good for Richard to have a look as u can always find out from him wats the common wear & tear, which particular parts of lancer prone to breakdown. Brendan Neutral Newbie October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 Called up C&C to check, they have a contractual agreement with Shell and Mobil to supply their engine oils and 'strongly' discourage owners from bringing their own oil. I was bringing my own oil since my first servicing and at the same time earning Escape points from Shell, until now. Engine oil price is comparable, only no Escape points. Yup, labor is expensive. Jonathan Neutral Newbie October 28, 2004 Share October 28, 2004 Think as long as you dun do any modifications to the engine such as changing the air filter... etc, C&C won't say anything. Its really up to you to decide if their warranty is important enough to continue servicing with them. Like their card says, "Maintain your warranty, service with C&C"! Brendan Neutral Newbie November 2, 2004 Share November 2, 2004 i go to the one at pandan gardens. well i guess now you can't bring your own oil after their agreemt with Shell and Mobil. you could try bringing but you risk having one bottle sitting around if they dun accept. They must have a good deal from Shell or Mobil when they buy in bulk. What I do last time is to purchase Shell Helix from any Shell station outside to get my Escape points and hand it to the counter staff when I go for my servicing. ↡ Advertisement
